Okay so i've jumped on the SSD bandwagon and am getting ready to put my new drive into my system tonight. system Specs are in my sig.
Anything i need to know about drive prep, bios settings, stuff that needs to be turned off in windows etc for use with my new SSD?
I will be doing a...
I might be biased about my views on this topic because i'm employed by "THAT" Cable company but i make a point to watch everything i can in HD and our new HD/DVR's have swapped over to MPEG-4 for recording which takes less space and we've put in bigger drives.
I will give i'm not so happy...
i ordered one without the code seeing as $115 AR is still a nice price for a GTX 460. It said it was supposed to be 7.68 shipping on the item page however at check-out i was only charge 4.50 shipping for my whole order.
We'll see if i still get one shipped come monday.
I would love to see a high performance card that out of the box doesn't also serve as a space heater. (closed loop on card water cooling. if that's even possible)
Thanks Danny was hoping you'd chime in.
Unfotunately the 22" is kinda critical seeing as if i get a smaller monitor for her build it will end up on my desk . If you're married though you'll understand that one.
Thanks for the link on the microcenter combo. I will also be checking...
did some digging and found some info on a fish tank forum. Almost same situation you're looking at

hope this info is helpful. If nothing else the math should be helpful in finding an answer
holy thread resurrection bat boy. But inquiring minds must know. Did anyone get one of these. Pros/cons. It's still on the table as an option for our HTPC. but $400 is alot of $.
tv already has an HTPC attached to it. But we can't use that if it's entertaining our 2 year old.
Dora Dora Dora the Explorer.

and the next build was going to be a home server build but that had to be put on hold for a pc for her.
well verdict is looks like i may not be able to meet the entire wish list and still have a Dedicated GPU. Here's what i've come up with in the budget.
Case - Cooler Master Elite 335 - $39.99 (promocode: EMCZYZX35)
PSU / HDD Combo - Seagate Barracuda ST3500418AS 500gb / Corsair CX430 - $89.98...
Wow! Nice build looks well thought out. A Little overkill in some areas but it's nice to see folks still take the time to make Visually appealing setups.
Kudos to you.
Hope everything works out on the cooler situation. I've always been nervous about canned Water Cooling Setups.
Wife is getting back on a nerd kick (facebook, SIMS, ARGHHHH) and is on my computer all the time. i need to get her off of it so that i can Have my PC time back. Please HELP!

this seems like it's just like a sleep timer on a tv doesn't seem like it's intuitive enough to shutdown once a recording has completed.
Thanks for the response. Keep any other suggestions coming.
There may be an answer to this already here. If so forgive my lack of search skills to be able to find it.
Can you set your HTPC to automatically shutdown once the recording of content has completed?
To make it even more complex is there any kind of software out there that would put the...
on a review of the device i read it state's the following
Does anyone know if there is a way to check how your cable provider marks the content prior to the purchase of a card?

less energy = less heat
less heat tends to mean that a lower wattage version of a chip will have more overclocking headroom before heat becomes an issue.
Given IT_Shiro's comments you could drop the power supply in my previous posed build to something like this

get adventurous and tear the whole drive apart pull the platters out of the scorched drive and put them in the replacement. i suggest a static strap and latex gloves (no powder) for this. *****however dell most likely won't like getting the drive back after you open the case of the drive.****...

so reading this thread has only left me more confused. It seems as though right now that the affordable cpus for the socket 1366 platform are going to be a thing of the past once the 920 is disco'd. And that if you want to have an affordable upgrade path that building a machine right now you...
saw this on the web made me think about reading this thread.

Here's what i got for ya. Changed the PSU to the Corsair there's a combo with the dvd burner makes it the same price as the pc power and cooling you had but it has 4a more on the 12v rail. Upped the ram to the 1600 gskill set. changed to 2 1tb WD FALS drives. Changed the case to one that is...
it's only 3 amps less on the 12V rail than the not so hot PSU you're using now. It should be fine unless you have intentions of xfire or SLI down the road
ahhhh this is why i love the dual bios thing on my Gigabyte board. Mess up the OC settings to where it doesn't post and it just boots from the back up bios and tells you sorry you tried to be toooooo[H]ard please try again.
But for some real help here's what i found
Source of that is here...

$49.99 - CORSAIR CMPSU-400CX 400W ATX12V V2.2 80 PLUS Certified Compatible with...
Here's what i'd go with. And looking at that PSU and the fact that it's most likely at least 2 if not 3 years old...... yes you'll need a new one. Have no fear though there are budget psu's that offer almost the same amount of power and are 80+ efficient and all the wondermus good stuff...
