NCX, Thanks for the input. Yeah I think I'm gonna stick with my u3011. I work with Digital imagery in Photoshop and Illustrator, and so far Dell u3011 has performed but it still has that banding issue...I was told that it could be a GPU issue, so I'm gonna double check.
Too bad though...
Guys, I had some banding issues with my current u3011 (anyone play Skyrim? does the smoke in the Loading Screen just destroy the gradients on your screens as well?), so I asked for a replacement.
They sent me an u3014 and explained that the u3011 is not being manufactured anymore.
I...
So I think I figured it out..I had to do 2 things.
First I backed up the 30 gig backup that I needed to Restore the current state of my Windows on the Samsung Series 7 Slate. ( I used the installed Samsung Recovery Solution to do the backup)
Second, I used WinFlash to transfer the Windows...
Hey Guys!
I just bought an (incredible!) Samsung Series 7 Slate Pc tablet. And now that I've installed the software that I work with (Photoshop with Wacom tablet drivers and such), I would like to create a System Recovery USB that will reinstall Windows with ALL my current software, if I ever...
J Macker, A online store compiled and built the computer. I only placed the order.
Also, I just recently removed the Wifi card, so I'll let the computer run and see if it happens again. The Red Screen didn't happen constantly, only ONCE, then when I restarted, Windows rebooted fine and I was...
Chimel, you're right, there was no error code writings at all. Just solid pure red across the screen.
So since Red Screen is excluded, what would you call it? I mean, I still couldn't restart the computer properly, I had to press and hold the power button. So it must've frozen the computer as...
Ok so I read online that this could be "Red Screen Of Death", quite similar to the Blue Screen Of Death but the red screen is rare.
I have removed my Wifi Card and will run the computer all day, all weekend, to see if any of the problems reoccur.
Hey Guys,
I have this new computer that I've used for about 2 weeks. Everything went fine until I had my first few bluescreenofdeath (in separate occasions). I researched online for a while and realized it might be because of drivers for a Wifi Card that I had inserted. So when I restarted...
Wow guys, the u3011 is truly impressive! I calibrated my monitor with X-rite Eye One.
The colors are gorgeous, the blacks have great depth and it shows in the contrast (especially in games and movies). With the native resolution everything is crisp and clear as it should be (I had issues...
Okay guys, I received the Dell a couple of days ago, but it is still plugged to my laptop, which might not be the most stable environment to fairly judge the Dell u3011 in. Im still waiting for my stationary gaming computer to arrive (a brand new with Gigabyte GeForce GTX 680 2GB OC Windforce...
jest, good tips, thx for great response! I just figured I'd save some money on a deal like that (it was quite amazing). But alas, im buynig it from a local store for approx $1200. Should be ok if you take into account the services as you mentioned already.
Thx! Ill come back and post my...
dukenuke88, this is a great offer!! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...pf_rd_i=507846
Anyone know amazons return policies when shipped to Europe?
I live in Sweden and I'm confident that I will take this deal, but as we all know, there might be dead pixels or other issues that will...
Yea I tried a couple of disks, still didn't work. I'm sure its me doing something wrong, but anyways, Ive decided to invest in a USB stick, it makes sense to move on from CD's and just adapt to the new ways. Besides, I can fill up the USB with plugins/updates/drivers and other stuff as well...
I tried IMG burn and it still caused som undefined problems and then I tried using the builin Windows 7 method, where I transfered the files INSIDE the .iso file to the cd directory, still it said its too big.
Hm, maybe its the DVD, this one is -R, maybe need RW? +R?
Hey guys!
Im trying to reformat my computer by burning a Windows 7 boot DVD. So I have a Windows 7 iso-file which is totally approx 4.20 GB (4,521,232,949 bytes). And I have a DVD that says it has 4.7 GB on its cover. But when I try to burn the file by dragging the Windows 7 folder into the DVD...
Impulse, Hey thanks for taking the time to chek on your other monitors.
Things is, its not just that image, it failed some of the tests on these websites as well (especially the dark portions of the tests):
http://www.momentskept.com/MonitorCalibration.htm
http://www.w4zt.com/screen/
I am...
eizen, I did, And I downloaded the DisplayProfile application, so that I can switch inbetween different ICC profiles instantly and see the differenes inbetween them.
But it was still too dark, I couldnt see the folds in the image.
What I did INSTEAD was, I calibrate my monitor with Display...
:(
fireburster, thx for checking.
Is there any way to adjust this? So that I can see those details in the darks.
Otherwise I might have to loose my newly bought, precious U2412M :(
Thats true, just raising the point-of-view does change the lightness on my laptop. I am such a noob in this area, but how do I exactly calibrate it to true sRGB or L*?
I used your color/contrast/brightness setting when I got to this thread, thx 10e.
Also, I hear that for photographers and...
Hey Guys!
I juust bought this monitor straight from the Local computer store in my city.
Now for the budget allowed, I've heard great things about this monitor. But being an Illustrator I am very picky when it comes to the Value Range (I guess you call it Gamma) and color accuracy. But mostly...
You guys are awesome!!
For Future reference, combofix + malwarebytes COMPLETELY SOLVED THE ISSUE!
Heres a website that guides you through the steps:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-opencloud-security
FIRST I RAN COMBOFIX, then I went through the website mentioned above...
This is the second time I've had this virus. Last time I was atleast able to surf the web and find a solution, but now I cant even open firefox without the malware/virus interrupting!
I am now seated at a different computer trying desperately to search for solution, but all the websites I...
Hey guys!
I've been considering buying a laptop for a while now, and in my search I've felt like I hunted newest technology rather than a computer efficient enough for my needs... All I need my computer for is gaming and Photoshop work essentially.
So is i7 really a must?
The prices...
Hey guys!
Any ideas for a stable laptop that will last hours without shutting down, whilst gaming or working. Screen doesn't have to be top-notch, since im gonna connect it to a larger, high quality monitor anyway.
My budget is around $900. And the one I've got eyes on right now is this...
Wow!
You guys are awesome, thanks for all the great suggestions!!
Since this is for a friend I think a prebuilt with certain modifications to it will have to do.
bufodr_t , Great tips dude, thanks a bunch!
Hey Guys!
With a budget around $600 - $800, I'm trying to get my hands on a solid gaming computer, pre-built. So do you guys have any suggestions?
I've been looking at Newegg's Cyberpower pc's:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883229130
That one in particular...
Kr1z, no worries. Thing is, I downloaded the Chipset and the Ethernet driver, yet there is no recognition of a internet connection. I am pretty much cornered here, it worked fine with Win Xp 64, it's so weird that it reacts like this with Xp 32.
Is there anything I can do manually? Is there ways...
Kr1z, appreciate your help, unfortunaley that's for Vista only, I need one for Win Xp 32. Something that makes Win Xp 32bit to recognize that I have a stable broadband connection, something that recognizes my Ethernet card.
I just installed Win Xp (32 bit) on my harddrive, where I already have Win Xp (64 bit) installed. And now I encountered an unexpected problem, I don't think my Ethernet card is being recognized by the OS, probably because the right drivers aren't installed.
I went to Gigabytes website to...
Hey guys,
I have a Mac Studio Display laying around here that I'd like to use with a newer brand macintosh computer.
So I was just wondering if this adapter would work to convert it to VGA and use it a more contemporary computer?
Heres a shot in the dark,
Does anyone here play Call Of Duty on this monitor? I'm getting some hardcore banding showing whilst browsing the menu of that game.
Since the original cable didn't work I had use an old one, but I just received my new one and still experience clear banding...
Hey,
Anyone know a good boombox with Ipod connections (or just an Ipod dock), that can connect up to 4 speakers?
Something that can deliver fairly good sound but within a budget of $200 - $300.
Any suggestions are appreciated!
Thanks guys.
Hmm, soo how is the warranty on dead pixel?
I got atleast 4 dead ones, spread across the screen. One in particular that shines strongly down in the right corner. Maybe I'm picky but it bothers me.
vick1000, didn't work, it was a dvi to vga cable, had to put a converter on. Once i plugged it in, the monitor wouldn't even recognize the connection. Never really experienced that...a dead cable.
