Licensing the OS to other vendors would certainly open them up for anti-trust cases. Wouldn't it? At i would just complicate things... But really i agree to posters here, that if they do license it, their hardware sales would plummet :)

planning on upgrading my Macpro Dual 5130 cpus to Harpertown ones. But I've read in various froums that it wont work, as apple hasn't release a firmware update for it. :) So instead im planning on going E5345s... anyone tried this, would this work? As I'd hate to waste money on procs i wont be...

same thing happened to a friends mac laptop, was quoted $800 for replacement. I think youtube has some videos of those, although depending on your model it may be hard to find. Joe pretty much on the dot bout it, but if your friends a bit apprehensive bout it, you can get the replacement...
