All I know is that with my X2 4400+ (1.3 BIOS) at the measly 1.4 vcore setting couldn't even do 2.4Ghz. The Opteron does 2.5Ghz (10x250) without breaking a sweat (gonna see if it will go higher) with the 1.4 BIOS. So the 1.4v overclocks nicely and the opterons with their lower operating...
Seems that the DC Opterons are more suitable for this board as I can definitely OC higher with the 170 than I could with my X2. Must be due to the lower operating voltage and the fact that the board gives both CPUs the same 1.40v max.
It's also a shame that under load the CPU volts can drop...
You cannot use an odd number of modules in dual channel mode. You either use 2 or 4 ram sticks. one or three ram sticks results in single channel mode. And as the manual says for dual channel you have to put the two ram sticks in either slots 1&2 or 3&4
Well, in the process of building three seperate systems and the rest has to go (plus some other stuff):
(1) Athlon 64 3700+ 1MB L2 CPU Retail S754 (Comes with everything, unused HS/F, docs, blister pack, basically as new)

That's just crap. If you're talking about Windows. For Linux, I agree with you. ATI drivers are as good as nvidia's and usually better as ATI doesn't need about 40 beta leaked drivers until they fix something. We could go back and forth, but that statement of yours is just ignorant. Get...
Well, it's been OVER a year since the last release but at least they are still paying some attention to those who gave them money last year. As always on their official page.
The difference in that in resolutions 1280x768 and above with 4xAA and 16xAF in SLI ONLY you'll see somthing like a doubling of framerates. So if you have a 7800 SLI setup and game then it makes a LOT of sense. Too bad the layout sucks but the tech beneath it is well worth the money.
My pleasure. No way I could justify the the quarter of a grand difference between what I paid for my XL and the XT but others may feel differently so I just wanted to let everyone know as I know certain individuals have been waiting.
Now where's my Sapphire PURE mobo in the US

Update by DougLite: Both WarlordBB and R1ckCa1n have acquired their new X1800XTs (local pickup at AllStarShop) and have already snapped pics, check out posts 61 and up (fourth page if you...
Thanks, I'll poke around and report back. Edit, apparently my CPU is still not supported as the beta BIOSes are off 1.20. Besides there are WAY too many issues with them for me to be interested in trying it. Guess I'm going back to 1.20 until I can get a new board.
Well, you have to remember that the system is $400 and if you want to play it on a computer monitor you can as it has a VGA cable accessory. For $400 it beats the pants off any comp. However, it's never going to be as good as someone with a high end PC with GPU from this gen. I'm not...
lovely  So either I go with a 2T setting for memory or I have locked settings. This is a nice board for the price but as soon as the Sapphire PURE hits this thing is gone.
Well, I've noticed something that's a little bit annoying. My multiplier will not change no matter what I set it in the BIOS. I have a X2 4400+ and it's stuck at 11x with the 1.30 BIOS
