Remember to get up to 700K+ ppd on AMD you need 16core overclocked extra spicey to 3.0+ Ghz so you are looking at around $300-450 for 62xx depending on model and $6-700 for 63xx, although you may approach the PPD of the Xeons at the extreme end of the AMD range.

Wierd, my IL is a 6272 at 3.1Ghz maybe it just needs more volts than yours. Definitely PSU quality plays a part, the E5 is on a Gold+ and the IL is on a Bronze+ Also its been a while since I had the meter on the IL and quite a few brain cells have probably disappeared since then :D

Same in the UK, which is why switching to E5 is better for me. E5-4650 @ 1mil PPD - 600W G4-6272 @ 700K PPD - 1000W

I never keep folding while gaming. Heck I even turn off hardware acceleration in Flash player and all browsers.

We're talking Extra Spicy here right? So 3Ghz instead of 3.1Ghz on all cores? Seen a few on the bay, usually quite a lot cheaper than the regular ones. So my guess is they may get 50-100K less PPD than the full fat 4650 spice?
