    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

I never disabled the ASBL on the 42c2 nor on the 55c7. It only happens during desktop use such as browsing, and never in games or movies playback. Actually, it did dim in movie playback at first, and I really didn't like that and thought this C2 was kind of broken unless I play games on it...

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

All squares are very visible on the C2, so it is not an OLED issue.

    Alienware AW3225QF 32" 4K 240 Hz OLED

Black crush is most likely due to bad calibration. There is near black flicker, but no detail loss.

No, I haven't measured. Standard mode is very easy on eyes though.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Sure it does, in negative way. Although the eyestrain from the Boost setting is even worse.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

The flicker, if it's not the VRR flicker, can be reduced by setting the option Reduce Input Delay to Standard instead of Boost.

Yeah, I tried Black level set to 14, and it looked like IPS glow with raised gamma.

    Pretty much yes.

144Hz support is a worthy upgrade, imo.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

I've been using Nubia RedMagic 5G smartphone for several years, and it has been stable as rock, not a single software or hardware hick up for all the years of operation. (Unlike the fancy Sony that I use now.) They also have a high quality ecosystem for there phones. Like BT headphones, that...

    TV vs. "real" gaming monitor

TVs flicker while monitors with hardware gsync modules are steady as fucks. Also TVs don't have the cool UW aspect ratios.

... and the screen was less tall. Shove 1-2 inches off the top and it would be perfect.

    Best hdmi cables?

Audioquest are flawless for hdmi. I also use some QED cables for certain audio interconnects and they are very good as well. I never tried any QED HDMI cables but I would expect them to be just as good as the Audioqests.

https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/monitor-oled-panel-roadmap-updates-march-2023 The 45″ 5120 x 2160 in 2025 maybe. Nothing before that for me. The 42 inch 120 hz OLED, is pretty much it unless a 38" or 49" widescreen comes out. I don't want another 16:9 even if it is 240+ hz.

Also the Calman hardware calibration doesn't work on C2s because of the broken built in test patterns.

That is great. Though, my post was intended as sarcasm/joke. Rich boyz swap their displays much more frequently than once in 5-7 years........

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Don't buy OLEDs. It's a toy for rich boyz that change there displays like gloves every 5 to 7 years.

    43inch TV/Monitor 4k people...what scaling do you use?

You may conduct the test yourself. I tested the windows scaling several years ago in one of the far cry games. While it may not be obvious at first, the scaling definitely transfered into the game. Thus I always set it to 100%. Maybe the contemoprary windows learnt to separate the different...

Yes thank you. I was referring to the whole quality of the Yamakasi Catleap monitors - even the max refresh rate wasn't guaranteed, while coming from the same region as the LG panels.
