I wasnt too sure where to post this and tried to search for similar threads, but doesnt look like I was able to find anything.
Anyway I am looking to get a couple of webcams, wired and wireless, to setup monitoring of my house. I am looking for software that I can stream to my iphone, has...
Somehow I went from wanting a cheap ~100 nas box to store misc docs and music to wanting something like a HP N40L. This is why I try to stay away from [H] but at the same time why I love it here.
After reading all the replies I wouldn't mind having the N40L and storing my photos there as...
The microsever does look interesting and newegg even has a promo for the N40L right now. Can you elaborate on the process with the usb image a bit more? Do I need a pre-existing OS on the microsever before running the image on the USB?
I certainly appreciate all the replies! I know this is [H] but I feel that a DIY NAS is more than I need. As intriguing as the N40l is I am looking for a simpler budget solution.
The discussion has been a great read though! Don't let this post stop that though since it can be beneficial to...
I am looking for a NAS solution and have just started looking into it.
What am looking for :
*accessible to Mac and PC
*use this as a central backup system for my documents/photos
*stream music
*small footprint
*low power consumption
*on 24/7
I would only access the NAS to...
im sure you would have something around your house. I found a old LG usb phone charger and it works great. I was using the charger for my iphone for a little bit as well. The LG is a 5.1v 800ma, when I checked the voltage on the pi its at 4.85v
havent used rasplex but I use raspbmc on mine. It works just like it does with my appletv2. I have everything running off of a class 10 sd card and dont really get much slowdowns. I use this with my mkv rips ~15-20gb. No stuttering or slowdowns over wired and have not yet tried wireless
I just bought mine from amazon for $45 shipped. I think this is pretty warm, would be HOT if the santa clara store was still open for me to pickup locally. Im so bitter about them closing that location haha
I got my 4tb seagates from amazon this week. Cracked them open to find the 5900rpm drives. Funny thing is these are faster than all my current 7200 rpm drives lol
anyone willing to get me one and ship? I am having a hard time finding a msi version to match mine. Would rather just get one and try and OC it and sli

I have this board and its a really hard budget board to beat, especially with the mc specials/sales.
I did my OC through easytune and it was just that easy. I used advanced mode to select my multiplier and set the voltage. I do want to eventually set the bios and remove easytune but setting...
My oc is stable at 4.4. Just sometimes if I restart due to software updates, the OC resets and I have to load up easytune again. Did you set your OC in easytune or did you go through the bios?
Hello fellow [H] peeps. I am in the market for a new router. I have been using the dir-655 for the past 5+ years. I have one at my parents house and its been great. I have one at my place but it's my bros and he is taking it to his new house so I need to get a new router. Currently I dont...
I have this mobo with f10a bios. I have been using easytune to get everything set but I have issues with the oc sticking. If I reboot the oc will randomly disappear. Im stable right now with 4.4ghz at 1.34v and LLC set to 6.
If I add those setting in the bios and try to boot, it will boot...
I think with voltage set to normal you are setting that as the voltage which is not enough for your OC. You would need to bump up the voltage a little at a time until you get stable.
Are you oc'ing through the bios or are you using easytune?
I am looking into different coolers for my setup in my sig. My office is pretty warm and usually 10-15* hotter than the rest of the house because of the sun during the day. Would I get better overall cooling with one of these than a regular air cooler?
I also leave my comp on 24/7 and it...
Do think the closed loop systems would do better than the air cooler in a hotter ambient room?
I have a xigmatek currently but since my office is usually 10*+ hotter than the rest of the house I'm curious to see how each would fair.
