I played Hellblade II on Xbox Series S without headphones and on a high-end gaming PC with headphones. The game is stunning in both formats, though of course the details and lighting looked a bit crisper on PC.
Whether on console or PC, I encourage every Hellblade II player to wear headphones...
There is not a single scene of this game that didn’t take my breath away, from the dark forests and the muddy roads to the snowy mountain trails and the endless, claustrophobic caverns.
The puzzles and combat failing to blow me away might seem like something of a dealbreaker in a game where...
TSMC struggles to meet demand for CoWoS packaging, holding back AI and HPC chip production: report
TSMC, is struggling to keep up with the demand for its chip-on-wafer-on-substrate (CoWoS) technology, TrendForce reports, citing Commercial Times.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is genuinely the most visually impressive video game I've ever played.
Even separate from the photorealistic environments and set pieces, there are some absolutely gorgeous animations and cinematics all throughout.
The 3D binaural audio is also unbelievably good, and...
The ASUS ROG Ally with the AMD Z1 Extreme can run Hellblade 2 on the lowest settings, but it's only enjoyable with the 25W Turbo mode. You'll have to make sacrifices to get the game to run, but it's possible to have a good playing experience on gaming handhelds.
The ROG Ally boasts 16GB of RAM...
Yes approximately same duration, slightly more. Immersion is better in the new game. Maybe you can trial gamepass & unsubscribe later, if you like the game ?
Having tested Hellblade 2 on the Steam Deck OLED, I recommend sticking to playing this title on a gaming PC for now. Despite being the best handheld gaming PC, the Steam Deck struggles to handle Senua’s latest adventure, and the compromises needed to get the game running at 30fps aren’t worth...
Performance-wise, the game had only minimal stuttering. On an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and NVIDIA RTX 4090 GPU, I could play with DLAA, DLSS Frame Generation at 4K resolution and max settings with around 80 frames per second on average, gaining around 30 frames thanks to Frame Generation.
Senua's...
a masterful example of an immersive gameplay experience
level of immersion is something I’ve never experienced in any other video game.
There’s no additional rendering, dip in quality, or janky animations when you transition from cutscene to gameplay. I could not tell which I was in, and I...
It seems like Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 has split critics between those who are invested in the story and cinematic experience to those who want to see more gameplay improvements. Either way, it looks like it’s worth checking out for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, who can play the game on PC, Xbox...
Apparently Microsoft imputes gamepass revenue share by the hours the game is played. Given that this is a relatively short game I wonder if it would be considered a success or evaluated by a different metric
If Hellblade 2 achieves only one thing it is to act as proof that there is absolutely no need for a new generation of consoles, despite rumours of Xbox planning to start one as early as 2026. It also proves that modern games don’t need hundreds of people to make amazing looking graphics, since...
DLSS provides the best image quality compromise of the lot, although it's still not without its drawbacks. Like all of the upscaling options here, it sometimes struggles with fur, clothing, and Senua's long, braided hair, and I did experience some odd visual artifacting in the sky in certain...
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is similar in many ways, but like its predecessor, it offers an incredibly memorable experience. With many of the same strengths and weaknesses of Senua’s first journey, some may wish the game had evolved a bit more, but this is a game players won’t soon forget...
Hellblade 2 is a superb game from a team that clearly knows what made the first one special. To say that the core experience is familiar, is not to say that it is simply more of the same - rather, it has both refined and expanded on the original on all fronts, creating a sequel that is nothing...
battles look superb. Senua will get smacked to the floor by some mace-wielding brute, roll to avoid an overarm deathblow, rise up to thrust her sword through his chest, before being stumbled into by another enemy who becomes the next focus in the fight. It's impressively seamless,
The...
Microsoft's weird ARM fetish:

I am guessing xbox will go first (on TSMC 3nm) zen5c + RDNA 5. One boxed traditional console & one handheld series S style console
Sony is in no hurry as they have the pro by this year end. So they can wait till zen 6 & RDNA 6 (2nm ?)
Rumours are that, since xbox skipped the pro console, they might go first, as early as 2026
Sony might release the PS6 only in 2028, in alignment with RDNA 6
Starfield's new Xbox performance modes are thoughtful and comprehensive
30, 40 or 60fps options available - but VRR works best.

I think Microsoft is tactically sharp.
but strategically poor
They don't seem to have the conviction necessary to patiently execute on strategy
Example Nadella regretted closing windows phone & losing a portal for mobile AI
Or in this case closing the studio behind award winning & 'successful'...

Xbox sales down to less than 9999 per day.
This figure is likely to go down further until a new gen console is released ( 2026/2027 ?? )

EDIT:
For perspective: this works out to double that of Steam Deck's sales 2 years ago (& the deck is...
Xbox’s Shift To ‘High-Impact’ Games Is Misguided At Best, Reckless At Worst
Xbox’s move risks endangering more studios and its own projects, rather than helping the company remain afloat
Xbox is chasing trends that are becoming increasingly hard to replicate to any real success.
These kinds of...
Microsoft hoovered up these studios on the expectation that its Game Pass business would take off and its console business would compete more strongly with PlayStation. That hasn’t come to pass. Its gamble hasn’t paid off, and it’s the teams that are paying the price...
...at one point you could get three months of it for £1 - and a stated goal to "reach the more than three billion gamers worldwide," as Ben Decker, head of gaming services marketing at Xbox, told Eurogamer in 2021.
that quest for massive, roof-shattering growth seems doomed. Since 2017, Game...
Game Pass will stay but become more expensive. This has already been reported as being talked about at Xbox, and it seems like the only solution left since subscription numbers just aren't going up.
Second is that Xbox will fully commit to bringing most, if not all, of its exclusives to other...
why Kill the goose that lays the golden eggs ?
Maybe they’ll feed the remaining geese they do have and hope they’ll lay more eggs faster, even though that isn’t how eggs work. The geese had to die, they couldn’t be sold to their neighbours or allowed to run free, because then other people could...
