I've got an EVGA 3080 XC Ultra on the way and currently running an 8700K on a Z390 board with 32gb 3000mhz CL15. Would it be worth it to go to 3600 CL18 or will the gains I get from the extra 600mhz be negated by the higher latency? I've been poking around but can't find anything on that...

I'm a bit concerned, it seems to be region locked. I live in the Caribbean and don't have an option to buy ANYTHING on the Rockstar store. Hopefully it's only region locked for sales and not for play.
Benches
To put this in perspective: my 3 year-old 950 Pro feels instantanious. Endurance-wise, I've only written 8.1tb over that period to the 950 Pro with light-ish usage. If you look at the figures, the 970 Evo Plus bests the same generation Pro right now.
I recently replaced a 512gb 950 Pro with a 1tb 970 Evo Plus. I benched both with Magician, the 970 beats the 950 by about 1.5x in reads and 3x in writes (Possibly the other way round, I'm not near my computer, but still a big step up either way!) but I honestly see no difference. Save your money...
I've got a 1tb 970 Evo Plus in my current system and thinking of adding a Corsair MP510. Has anybody come up against any driver problems running these together? Does the MP510 need any extra drivers apart from the default Windows ones?
I noticed when installing my new mobo one of the pins was slightly off, I could see it wasn't quite lining up right if I looked from a low angle. It wasn't a huge deviation but I managed to get it back *almost* straight to the point where you can't see it's off just by eyeballing it (In fact, I...
PS It's not one of the LEDs for the DIMM slots to show the memory is installed correctly. I have all four slots populated and all four corresponding LEDs light up correctly.
I just put together a new system based on an MSI Z390 Gaming Pro Carbon. When I enable XMP I get the red LED lighting on the top right of the board as specified, but a second red LED lights up beside it also (The one on the left). I can't find any info on a second LED lighting, is this normal...
Are you getting similar scores to the reviews? For instance, FC5 on most reviews I've seen peaks at ~125fps, whereas I'm at 106, which is where most reviews put the average. My average is around 87.
I'm running at stock, and the only tests I've tried so far are FC5 and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, all at the same settings as specified in the reviews. I'm running on an MSI Z170A Gaming Carbon Pro, 32gb Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000mhz (Though I haven't enabled the XMS profile, I'm sure this is...
I just replaced a 1080 with a 2080 in my 6700K system, but my benchmarks aren't lining up with what I've seen in reviews. I haven't really done a whle lot of testing yet, and I haven't done a full reinstall of the OS like I usually do, but I seem to be about at 75% of what the average score is...
I had a board a few years back that was shorting on my case somehow and was behaving similarily. Have you tried booting with the board outside of the case?
I pre-ordered from Amazon the day it was announced (at $529) but cancelled yesterday when it was still saying it will ship when in stock. I live in a tropical climate and didn't like the look of those thermals so I went with an 8700k instead. I also ordered a Z390 board (I'm still on Z170)...
Surprisingly, I've nver had any real problems with cooling, and I've been doing this since my Pentium 120 days! I do have it in an room with ac and I keep the windows closed to avoid corrosion - I've seen some real disasters here with other systems.
Thoughts, anybody? The TDPs match up at 95W and it seems to have a bit of headroom (2 out of 3 asterisks for overclocking, though I plan on staying at stock speeds). Has anybody used this with a hot chip without issue? I've been using it with a 6700K rated at 91W.
I think I'm going to have to go with a Z390 board. I live in the Caribbean so with freight, duties etc it's not really feasible to get a temporary chip. Thanks for the tips though!
I just ordered a 9900K but thinking of using a Z370 board instead of a Z390. I'm looking at an MSI board which just put a new BIOS for download on their site to support the i9 chip. Will I be able to update the BIOS with the i9 installed?
