Thanks...I hope I find what I want....
It seems you have a good experience with TNs...
The ones that I saw were not good...at least to my eyes...compared to my current one....
Ok then...I have a question for you....Whay are the IPS and the MVA panels so much more expensive than the...
Actually...No...I don't agree with your post....
I bought my 15" 5 years ago...and it DIDN'T cost a fortune, nor was it out of the ordinary average consumer's budget....It is IPS/MVA (whatever)...and not a TN....
Fast forward 5 YEARS...I expected to find a 22' at a REASONABLE price ...and...
You just made my point....either settle with a low quality TN panel that runs anywhere between $200-300...or go for an IPS professional panel that retails for $1399!!
Its like IPS/MVA is not even intended to be bought by the average consumer..
Yes...why not...i'm willing to pay more for a quality 22" panel....but it seems that 22" are all TN.
I don't actually get it...are IPS/MVA...or whatever they are called....that much more expensive to make?
Or are the manufacturers just catering to the bigger demands...that is the gamers...
I have a Porsche design Syncmaster 151P (IPS) screen for quiet a while now...and wanted to increase my working space...so went out to multiple stores to check what the market has to offer...
I was especially interested in the 22" choices...
Well...from what I saw over the past couple of...
The manual says it reproduces 16.7 million colors .....but I've also been told here on the forums that its a TN panel...which is 6 bit...
I'm confused....
Is it 6 bit...but produces 16.7 million by DITHERING?
And will i notice....
I've been using for the past 3 years a Porsche design...
Actually, its all my local market has to offer...there are tons of 19" screens...but very few 22"
Here are the choices:

I just upgraded to Vista 64 from XP...and all my peripherals are working fine...except for one...my scanner
I have a Canoscan N650u...and there r no drivers listed on Canon for vista...
I tried almost all the solutions i read on the net...but none worked...should I just throw the scanner...
I mean for protection from power surges and dips.....I mean acting as a STABILIZER...and not for the battery function
Every now and then, like half an hour, I hear a loud noise from the PSU...I'm positive its the current, which sucks in my area..(Lost my A-V receiver a few months ago...)
I...
Using Lavalys Everest...I see the 4 core temperatures hovering around 45-49C idle
That's during internet browsing....
Is that temp within normal...or should I first aerate my case better?
I have an antec clone tower (chieftec), with 2 12mm fans blowing air out on the back, and a 12mm...
The PSU came with 4 thermal sensor cables...each with a socket on the back of the PSU...
Temperatures can be read through the PSU's control panel
Can anyone educate me as to how can I attach these sensors to ...say my 2 hard disks, case, and the GPU's heatsink?
Do I use regular...
Aloha everyone....
Anyone here has any input on this specific screen?

I am planning on getting one..but would like your opinion first..
Thanks...
nice...will try that...
Now...can you please guide me to a tutorial on OCing my system...a tutorial made for dummies please...:D
This will be my first trial at OC ever....
How safe can I go with a Q6600 if I want to OC, using the STOCK heat sink and fan?
Mine is a G0 stepping...on a EP35-DS3L...with 2 x2GB A-Data PC2-6400 (400 MHz)..a GT8800 and an Odin GT 800W PSU...
I'm at 9x266...@2400GHz...
What's the safest I can do with the stock cooler...
Actually I ended up buying the Gigabyte Odin GT 800W....
Found a review on techPowerUp!...(guys who created ATiTool and GPU-Z)....and they rated it VERY highly...even above some very reputable PSUs...
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/Odin_GT_800W
The packaging is...
OK...I can confirm....
the problem was the GAMING HUD software that came with the card, that controls all the voltages and speeds...etc...
Uninstalled it....all fine now for ~24 ours...
Still I'm gonna buy a PS today...:D
Well...I could...but I think the topic has changed entirely...
I am asking about 2 specific brands....and want suggestions about them from as many members as possible...
In the other thread...the topic is originally about FREEZES in a PC due to a PROBABLE PS problem....
I don't see them...
It seems I have another choice...but MUCH more expensive...:
Gigabyte Odin Series...GT and Pro...either 800W or 1200W...which is WAY overkill...
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2000320058+50001314&name=GIGABYTE
I will get one of these if anyone recommends...
Are they any good?
I am asking specifically about the Zephyr series and the Raptor series...

Former is A-PFC and latter P-PFC...
There are some reviews...
Ok then...will go out today and get one....
These are the ones at my local stores...HEC....

I saw the HEC RAPTOR 500W the other...
I guess I solved it...
It was the Gigabyte Gaming HUD software that is linked to a chip on their redesigned 8800GT that was causing the problems...
Still...I know I need a new PS..
thanks..
Has anyone here had FREEZE problems with this card in Vista 64....
I think the problem I have been experiencing the last few days (i posted in OS forums and Power Supply forums) was due to the GIGABYTE GAMING HUD software...
Whenever it loads...screen goes pink for a second...and freezes...
Yep...I agree...NEW PC..on a 5 yr old PS....NOT GOOD...
But here's the problem....Where I live...stores are not very technically informed....
You can find the latest CPUs, Mobos, Gx cards...etc...but $10 no name power supplies!!
If you want a good one like thermalright or corsair...only...
Here's the problem:
At startup this happens:
and the PC FREEZES...
This NEVER happens during actual use...ONLY AT STARTUP...never in UT3...3DMARK06...or in PCMARK05...or any benchmarks...
Could it be GIGABYTE's GAMING HUD...it almost happened when I launched it...screen went...
I have an older 20 pin ATX PS...and I just upgraded like my sig shows...and I plugged the 20 pin into the 24 pin mobo socket...all runs fine...but I have freeze problems described in the previous thread...
Is 20 pin into the 24 pin socket ok??
I had a fresh install 4 days ago of Vista 64. Every now and then...at STARTUP ONLY...the desktop goes mosaic...and color get distorted...and PC FREEZES...
I uploaded a few pics of the FREEZE....
its either this...or a blank yellow screen....
ONLY happens at startup...never during actual...

Is this a POWER SUPPLY issue....maybe to the Graphic card?...I am using the PCI to 2 molex connectors that came with the card....both molexes are...
