I have had the same problem for a while now. I have a large music collection (120GB) and *most* of the songs play find in itunes. Every so often I run into a song that just won't play until the end of the song and itunes automatically jumps to the next song. I've tried figuring out what the...
I got a refurb 9800Pro 256 and it wouldn't run at stock speeds without artifacting like crazy. So I lost about $40 in shipping and restocking fees from that mistake.
I got a refurb 9800pro from newegg and it wouldn't run at stock speeds without artifacts. Be careful as the newegg rma policy for refurbs is only 15 days, not 90 days as previously posted. I'll stay away from refurbs from now on as I lost about 30 bucks on the shipping and restocking fees.
Love my Northwood here and haven't been persuaded to upgrade by anything that has come out since. Conroe looks to be my next purchase but I will wait for some real world reviews first.
I bought my box from Monarch 2 years ago and have been extremely satisfied with it and the build quality. They were prompt and the machine was packaged very well and I have not had any hardware related issues with it that I didn't cause myself. I'd go with them again but I want to experience...
I get kind of a sticky dust in my case that doesn't blow out with compressed air very well. I took out the 7700 and washed it in a sink of warm water. I let it dry completely and put it back in and it works fine and looks brand new.
Same here, my 478 system purrs and I am waiting for Vista and Conroe before I spend another dime on upgrade stuff. All the releases after the i875 haven't impressed me enough to open my wallet.
I just got the same 6600GT and have been pretty happy with it so far. I put a Zalman VF700 on it and it runs BF2 at 2xAA and High detail on most of the settings except for dynamic lights and shadows. I tried turning high on all setting but it stuttered alot. I think it's a great card that was...
I just got an eVGA 6600GT AGP card to tide me over for about 6 months. I installed it and the latest drivers and everything seems good. I was a little disappointed that I couldn't run very high settings in BF2 though, mostly all set to medium. Now my real question is that I downloaded...
I got it as a refurb from newegg. I heard people had good experiences with newegg refurbs so I gave this a try but maybe that was a mistake. I guess I have 15 days to return it.
I recently got my hands on a used Sapphire Radeon 9800 pro 256mb Ultimate edition card that comes with the passive Zalman heatsink. I installed the card with the Cat. 6.1 drivers and it works fine for normal computer use but when I fire up Atitool and scan for artifacts at the default core and...
Total audio newbie here. I have been using the onboard IC7 sound and it sucks big time. It crackles when my refrigerator turns on/off lol. Looking to spend under $50 for a soundcard to run a 2.1 speaker system mostly for listening to MP3's and some gaming. Also for plugging in headphones...
You are the head of Intel R&D and you have a great new core based on 10nM carbon nanotubule transistors... Please come up with your own flashy "codename" that will be used extensively throughout PC enthusiast sites and by overclocking noobs. Please keep in mind that "Mr. Intel" upstairs really...
I have a 350W Enermax ps that came with a case I bought like 2 years ago. I wasn't overclocking back then and it worked great. I am trying some overclocking now to prolong the life of this system and I notice that when I run my 2.4C at 3.0 and run Prime95, the 12V rail dips to 11.55V. It...
I'm looking for the best passively cooled AGP card for less than $200. If not passively cooled than as quiet as possible. I only game with BF2 and it plays well on my 9600pro so I'm pretty sure any newer cards will run it well too (I don't need all the eye candy turned on). I saw that...
I also use Ceramique and find it easy to use and easy to clean up. I do wonder about the lifespan of an application though. I had the heatsink on there for about 1 year and when I pulled it off the Ceramique was very dry and crusty. A new application of Ceramique dropped my temps significantly...
This has been an issue since the 875 boards were released like 2 years ago. I must be one of the VERY lucky ones because the NB fan on my IC7 still runs like normal today (still loud but thats because it goes so fast).
Hi guys,
I've been WAY out of the pc loop for a long time. Current rig is in my sig and I want to upgrade my graphics card to squeeze about another year out of the system. Obviously I have to stick with AGP. So I was wondering if I wanted to go to an Nvida 6600 GT, can I install that card...
I'm in the same situation as OP. Crucial does have 512 pc2100 for $95 but its not on the apple page. I ordered some of this and will see if it works (it's not here yet). As far as I can tell it is the same as the stuff they sell specifically for the ibook but that stuff costs $139. Here is...
So I've been out of the hardware loop for a while. Haven't picked up anything new but what is in sig, what do you guys think for runnig HL2? I don't care about full details but playable framerates are a must obviously.
we just got a couple of 1901fps in at work and I cant figure out how to get them to switch from landscape to portrait mode. Can anyone tell me how to do it?
have a pc with a cable connection through Time Warner cable. I just bought an Apple Powerbook that comes with airport extreme (802.11g). I was wondering if I could buy a wireless router and connect the pc using a hard line cable and the powerbook using wireless at the same time? Can I share a...
What would give me the best kick for my money, to get 2 gigs of pc3200 or to bump the speed up and go for pc3700 or faster? Mainly for gaming and internet and bragging rights :) Does anyone have 2 gigs of ram in their IC7 and if so how does it perform?
I'll be stickin with my rig for a while. I am going to get a larger secondary drive but I don't really count that as an upgrade. I think I might miss prescott altogether.
