Mine is the same. It's very quiet, but if you listen closely it's as if one of the blades of the fan is rubbing or it's off balance or something. Generally happy with it since I can't hear it over any other ambient noise in the room, but still unfortunate.
Has anyone else used the new MSI Z97I ACK? I'm put a new system together today but have not been able to get it to POST. Tried swapping different memory, different PSU, and still no luck. Power is plugged into both ports on the motherboard and the PC speaker is not beeping. I don't see any LEDs...
Anyone have any boot issues with this board the first time they set it up? All my parts came in today for an M1 build. Everything is hooked up, but no luck booting. The only thing that powers on is the CPU fan.No lights on usb devices and nothing on the monitor.
It's been a long time since I've...
Anyone receive theirs from Amazon yet? Mine still has an estimated arrival date of Feb 10 - Thu, Feb 19, but it hasn't shipped yet.
Edit: Just updated on Amazon this morning, now arriving Friday, Feb 27
Thanks, I couldn't find it on Amazon when I searched before. I'm still waiting on my M1 and haven't ordered any other components yet, so I'll place the pre-order direct from Amazon, it's 25$ cheaper there with free shipping as well.
I've ordered 6 myself, 2 of them have 1 high fly write error each over the last week. It's been a long while since I've bought new hard drives, so I'm still running tests on these and trying to better understand the smart values.
When did this issue start for you? I have an ARC-1222 that just started throwing the exact same errors in the Event Viewer. I've had the card for less than a year and now the array is unusable in windows. The array check from the Areca tool doesn't find any errors when I run a check as well. The...
The sponsored link that shows up for me in the OP works. Either way, try this:

I read on a Newegg review that they hit you with a hard credit check when processing the VISA rebate card. Not sure how much truth there is in that, but it's not something that is worth it to me.
I emailed back and forth with Mike a few times. I placed an order as soon as the 120mm brackets went on sale and bought 1 for 1$ with in-store pickup. I called a few times before I went out to make sure they were in stock. They returned my call and were pretty helpful over the phone and in the...
The warning is from the C7 value, Ultra DMA CRC error count. I believe it's an old error. I just swapped cables and reformatted my WHS these last few days. So I don't remember what the number used to be, I'm just watching it to see if it goes up.
Finally got around to doing this. It looks like it worked fine to add and alight my F4EG to the pool. I did get a DEP error for Virtual Disk Service after the reboot though. Aside from that, it seems to be good.
cbutters posted this same guide in his own thread here in the data storage section as well. Good to see more stories of it working, I'm going to be trying it later this week myself. Appreciate the confirmation.

I haven't had a chance to try this yet. I will be upgrading my WHS tonight and will definitely have to give this a shot.
Thanks very much for putting this together.
This is exactly what I saw too, but I only attempted to align the newly added F4EG. That definitely didn't work. It took like 5-10 seconds or something to do it. It was properly aligned when I checked, just unreadable by WHS.
I would like to echo your results above. I formatted it on Win7 and checked that everything was aligned. I then added it to WHS drive pool and it repartitioned and reformatted the drive. I also tried to use an alignment tool, Paragon I think it was, to fix the partition. This said it was...
Nope, nothing fancy in Win7. Just a simple volume with the 2048 offset. I'm reinstalling my WHS tonight to move from an old WD Raptor system drive to a new F4 (the 7200rpm 320g variant). After which, I will try to format again in W7, but I don't think that really works.
I think getting gparted...
I partitioned my drive on Win7 and it was aligned properly. When I added it to the WHS storage pool, it was no longer aligned and looked like it just recreated its own partitions. I tried to then move that partition with Gparted as I read elsewhere, but that through an error like 10 hours into...
Thanks for the offers. It doesn't look like those are compatible with the motherboard I'm trying to upgrade the cpu for. It's a basic Intel DG965RY.

Trying to keep it as low power as I can with still decent...
Would really like to pick up a used E4400. If not, I would take an E6320 or E6420. I already have a retail heatsink/fan, so the bare processor would be perfect.
Thanks in advance.
No worries. This was a brand new drive to me, so I figured I didn't have much to lose. I also didn't have any blank cdrs around, and my lack of patience got the best of me and it worked out in my favor.
I did and had no problems. Used the HP utility to create the bootable flash drive from the floppy img file that was in the iso of the Intel firmware cd. Had to switch to IDE in the bios, but no other issues.
I have a pair of the Rosewood for rear duty. I enjoy them quite a bit, they replaced some Axiom M22ti speakers which I now use on my computer. Fronts are the RS850s, RSC200 center and MFW15 for the sub. I am quite a fan of all of them and have nothing but good things to say. I have had to wait...
Just to throw in my experience. I tried to create a bootable USB stick with the method posted on page 1, but that didn't work for me. I got the text "FreeDOS", I think it was, in the top corner.
I used the HP disk utility without any problems and successfully flashed my virgin, retail Newegg...
Thanks for phone in tips. I was offered the free shipping via UPS ground without even asking about it. Did state it was a Thanksgiving/Christmas holiday special. Very nice rep, tried to sell me a MS Laser mouse and keyboard, but was not pushy about it.

I bought the Denon 3808ci from them a few months ago, they typically sell this, the yamaha and an some Onkyo for that price. You just have to call and ask (I'd never seen it available through online checkout before).
There is a thread over at fatwallet about it also...
I'm in the same boat, except I had two of them DOA. One was not even in the bubble wrap anymore, the other had the silica stuff completely crushed to where there was like sand all over the drive. I sent an email complaining, my first choice would be to return for full refund and pay 30$ more or...
