I wouldn't count on RAID as a backup solution for precious photos.
Pay of an offsite backup ASAP. I use carbonite and backblaze and am happy with both of them. Last thing you need is 2 drives dying in a RAID 5 an you lose everything you really want.
I'm pretty happy with the Ipad size. I've tried a couple 7" tablets and found them too small. I've also tried 2 Asus windows tablets (vivotab RT and vivotab Smart) and HATED the aspect ratio. They are far too wide so it's uncomfortable to type on the screen landscape and in portrait mode they...
I have heard some complaints that the apple drivers for the trackpad in windows aren't that great.
I never really noticed much of an issue when I had a MBP but I've had multiple complain about it to me.
Just wondering what the issues are for the Antec 300?

Picked up the base model new 13" pro last night
My first mac and I gotta say I'm very pleased with it. I even want to skip a concert I'm going to tonight just to mess around more :)
I'm using an Acer 1410 right now
CULV, comes with 2GB of ram and has a free slot
Good resolution @ 1366x768
Win 7 home premium 64 bit
250GB drive
Runs surprisingly quick. Can't handle a lot of games but I can play Civ 4 on it with no issues.
I'm pretty happy with my Acer 1410. CULV 2300, 2GB of ram (can add more into the empty slot), plays back HD video fine and I get about 5-6 hours use out of it. I can even run Civ4 on it at decent settings (though gaming does lower the battery life a decent amount).
Acer Aspire 1410-2817 Intel SU2300 2GB 250GB 11.6IN HD Win 7 Home Premium (499)
or
ASUS Eee PC 1201N Black Atom N330 NVIDIA ION 2GB 250G 12.1IN 1366X768 Draft N WIN7 (529)
I guess it comes down to processor power vs video power and what makes it all around more usefull. I'd be using it for...
I'm looking to upgrade the crappy x1300 thats in my Dell 745 at home.
Needs to be low power and low profile for the chassis. I'm leaning towards the ATI 5570 so far as it's cheap and looks to be a good option.
Anything else I should be looking at that's faster and around the same price?
Just entered the PS3 world a week or so ago.
Luckily for me I have friends who have already switched so it makes the initial game purchase load smaller.
So far borrowed:
Batman: AA (beat)
Heavenly Sword (beat)
Infamous (About to start)
Incoming to borrow:

Fallout 3 for me. Probably the worst combat in a game I've played in years. Are you a tactical game or a shooter! Just decide. I would have been happy with full turn based combat like FO1/2 or get a good system like mass effect had. Blowing AP on 2 shots then running around waiting for them to...

Any chance you know if the psu in the full dell case is a standard size that can be swapped?
Looking at my local place (I'm in canada so no newegg yet (soon though)) it's cheaper to get a new psu than a gpu booster
Just another quick question
Should a 500watt psu be fine? It looks like the stock full tower is a 305 watt based on the dell site specs.
500watt psu for around $60 + $179 for an ati 4850 and I'm a happy camper it looks like :)
So snagged a desktop from work last week.
Optiplex 755 (managed to snag a full tower and none of that slim crap)
It's a pretty decent machine except the ATI HD2400 pro is a bit lacking in the power department for gaming.
I've got a friend with an extra 8800GT he said he'd lend me for a...
Check out ogio backpacks.. they're very well made (been using one with my laptop for about 3 years now and it looks brand new still)
I stayed away from messenger bags because even with my 14.1" laptop, I started to feel shoulder pain on long transit journeys to work and back.
If the information is that important, I should hope you are recommending a good backup solution. Regardless of how well put together the laptop is, hard drives die all the time.
I'd suggest a good RAID usb enclosure with a regular backup process in place.
