HL2 looks about 5-10 times better than D3 and far cry - not the textures (obviously) but the art, style etc - I want it at the highest settings. It stills look's excellent texture's wise. Especially as it's going to be better than far cry and doom3 put together - it's the gameplay that counts...

Mine never did that and I always move the mouse quickly ocassionally in games to see if it effects the fps...

The x800xt's are becomming readily avaliable now, by mid-end of the month they will be easy to get imo.

I'd focus on staying ahead in all the games they're ahead in - far cry (they will be beaten iq wise soon), UT24k HL2, CSS etc etc. Doom 3 is nothing compared to HL2 and little compared to Far Cry.

Even the UK is getting x800xt's in stock now, quite a lot. By the end of this month they will be easy to get imo. oh that was agp i was talking about, the pci-e x800xt is very easy to get even in the UK.

Also it's important to note that if you can only play HL2 at 2048x, on your system, with a x800xt as a hardc0re gamer.... it's x800xt only for you and I. :)
