Thanks guys :)
As for the 911 on the wall - I googled 911 blueprints and found one I liked, used beamer to project the picture on the wall and traced it with a black marker ;)
Here's my humble workstation at my gf's place.
I made the desk myself using a vintage sewing machine from mid 50's as a base. Laptop is hidden in a ventilated drawer. Not so much high performance workstation, but it gets the job done ;)
Long time no post...
Anyways, as the Thanksgiving doesn't concern me I thought I'd share my workstation with you guys.
I used to have a regular case (Coolermaster Cavalier) but it just didn't fit into the picture so I got this little piece of furniture from Ikea and put the computer in the...
Here's my workstation. Got rid of the Jerker when was moving to my new place.. it took way too much space thus I had to settle with a smaller Fredrik.
and here's a pano shot of the bedroom..
..and my gaming/ HT station
if you have the hardware already then try it out.. I think memory doesn't mean as much as CPU processing power.. as for the frontend - I'm using mediaportal.
I recently built HTPC based on the very same mobo and CPU, 2 gigs of RAM - runs perfectly on 42LG6000 through HDMI (I have a slight problem with the TV tho..).
I agree with Danny about the case and PSU - I myself got Tacens Theca case and Fortron PSU.. I never go for generic case/psu combo.
My budget system for music listening: Denon PMA-250 SE amp, Harman Kardon HD710 cd and Onkyo D-052AX bookshelf speakers.
Other speares are Modecom AV2000 that I use for movies.
try clearing CMOS.. make sure that all additional power cables are plugged.. try booting with minimal configuration - CPU, one stick of RAM and onboard graphic.. also make sure that the mobo supports your CPU (I myself don't have time to do a research for you..).
does the vid card have an additional power connector? hm, what about the onboard graphics, does it work? try clearing CMOS.. and also - try the vid card in other rig.
I'd say it's power related.. I have a Maxtor HD that I experience a similar problem (powering down along with read/ write access problems). Switching molex connector solved my problems.. at least for now.. ;)
as far as I know HDMI does carry the audio signal, and I think you should be able to ouutput the sound through the coaxial out to your speakers.. why don't you try it, since you already have the hardware.. ;)
