I just looked on eBay and all of the completed auctions for this model are $200+ (including shipping). hmmmm...
Are current TN panels considered superior to the VA panel in the Dell?
Hi all,
I am in putting together a gaming rig to be used in a couple of months and am looking for a good display. I have decided to probably go with a something in the 23-24" range. I don't really have a budget per se, but want a good bank for the buck for whatever I get. Well, tonight my...
Well, I guess I won't be getting the Dell PSU after all. Not because of fears of reliability or performance, but because it does not have a 4 pin CPU power connector (the XPS used a 24 pin AND a 20 pin connector for systemboard/CPU power apparently). I will have to find something else then...
Hi all,
I am wanting to convert an older PC into a capable gaming machine by making a handful of necessary upgrades. It is a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop w/ Q6600, 4GB RAM, and ATI 2400. The only thing I really need to upgrade is the video card (haven't decided on what kind yet), but this...
Total data is close to 2TB. I mainly want to be able to download movies or tv shows while traveling so file size will be around 700MB on average. Right now, I can't change any firewall settings since I don't know the username and password for the device on the other end. When you say getting...
Hi all,
I bought a new desktop recently and decided to turn my old one into a home server. I have ordered a copy of Windows Home Server on the way, but was going to set up the computer as an online file server in the meantime. I followed a tutorial online but could not get the server to...
I finally figured out what the problem was. According to online sources, the BIOSes ABIT released that support 45nm processors for this mobo have problems reading the temps of these processors. I had to disable overheating shutdown in the BIOS to boot into Windows. CoreTemp shows a temp of 31...
Well, I tried re-seating the heatsink and cleared the CMOS and that did not work. I put in the E5200 again, and noticed that as soon as I boot the computer and go into the BIOS it reads 98C. With the P4, it reads 25C in the BIOS. Could that make this a motherboard problem>
Is is possible to apply too much thermal paste between the CPU and heatsink, so much that it actually decreases cooling performance? I realize now that both CPU's are getting hotter than they should.
Hi all,
Today I started putting some parts together for a HTPC and have ran into some troubleshooting issues.
I bought most of my parts here on the forums and was going to pair an Abit IP35-E mobo with a E5200 processor. However, when I first tried the build I could not get it to work and...
Hi all,

Hi all,
I recently got a new laptop from Dell with Vista Home Premium installed on it. I also have a retail copy of Vista Ultimate still in the box, which I want to put on my laptop. So that got me thinking, is it possible to install Vista Home on my desktop using the product key originally...
Hi all,
I am looking to buy the Company of Heroes pc game. I've got a few weeks in between school semesters and thought this would be a good time to try it out. The game came as a pack-in bonus for several video cards over the past year so hopefully there are plenty of copies out there...
If anyone waited till the last minute and decided not to use their mystery coupon, I would greatly appreciate it if you could PM it to me. My aunt just contacted me yesterday about finding a laptop for my cousin before she starts college in a couple of weeks.
$500 shipped anywhere in the continental US
You are looking at a very lightly used Olevia 537H 37 inch High Definition LCD TV with integrated HD tuner. The TV tuner was a great feature, allowing me to watch both HD channels and movies on the same television without an external cable box...
Hi all,
I just purchased the drive listed in the thread title. However, it does not have a legacy power port, which I must have for the drive to run on my computer. Therefore, I would like to trade this drive for another SATA 500GB drive that does have a legacy power port. Only the drive...
I did not find this to be true at all with my two "disposable" Epson printers. The first one conveniently clogged up one month past the one year warranty and the second one clogged up after only 16 months of use. I treated these two printers just like my old reliable HP PSC 500 and two Epson's...
