    Help with shuttle sn45g

I have a 9800Pro and that generates more heat than the 9600AIW and it works OK - but I do have the 250W silent-x psu as well.

Need something small, no clue where to start

Lian-li do a nice m-atx ali tower that should do your 2*5 1/4 requirement, Shuttles only have 1*5 1/4 and I have a soltek Qbic IQ3601 that has 2*5 1/4 but the build quality is poor. how about an Antec Aria case?

    Need help in SFF decision

Depends on budget . the SN41G2/SN45G is hard to beat with XP2500Barton + 2* PC2700 sticks (dual channel memory controller) The SN85G4/SK83G are the A64-754 pin options - I have an SN85G4 with XP3000+ and 9800pro and get 18666 3dmark 2001 at stock clocks, It is a bit noisy and runs warm for my...

    What to get?

I would go for "Shuttle RefleXion XPC Anniversary Edition" loadsa goodies with it but you have cd-drive so SB61/SB62, depends on CPU if does 800 FSB or HT then try the SB75G2 (gives option of prescott later and has 240W PSU) check http://eu.shuttle.com/

    SFF or mATX?

Shuttles got the heatpipe tech so should be cooler and is more compact but can't take wide AGP cards. Aria allows more than 1 pci slot and as its a std m-atx board would take a 2-slot AGP card. Aria also has 300W PSU shuttles only 200/240W

Crazy artifacting on a new nForce2 IGP

If it gets worse when screen saver kicks in or you do and 3D then its likely to be ram timings or the ram itself, also check if its a good 350W check the 12V,5V lines some cheap 350's are only 145W combined so can have problems. Easy testsing. 1) remove all extra hardware so 1 hdd, 1cdrw - No...

    SN41G2 help.

thats the default setting if the shuttle has problem detecting the fsb for cpu/ram, check the cmos reset jumper isnt set. try setting the memory timings without changing the cpu fsb and see if that sticks, I'll check my settings later to see what I've got

Need help to pick out a shuttle from you experts

onboard sounds fine, except for line-in isnt balanced so if you want to take records > Ogg then your better with a dedicated soundcard, but for games its fine. For the load you want to stick in it make sure you get the silent-x 240W PSU or it will be unstable. Another option is to get the antec...

    Amd64

I have a SN85G4 and they do run HOT - the PSU runs hotter than the cpu in mine, but I have 1G ram, XP3000, 160G sata, Pioneer107 and an ATI 9800-Pro stuffed into it. BTW XP-64bit seems fine - no probs so far. The major bugbears are that you have to disconnect the card reader when installing...

    sn41g2v2b + 35 watt 2200+ mobile, or 45 watt 2400+ mobile?

built several Shuttles, the SN41 wont do 400 fsb because of the built in video (officially) but I have managed some good o/c's using mobile bartons and an AGP card. The SN45 seems to have a problem that if you get a V2.0 m/b and change the vdimm the board can die for no reason. However put...
