You want to look for an ATi-made X800XT VIvo 256mb and flash its BIOS for an extra 6 pixel pipes and many more MHz to an X850XT PE. A very formidable card.
I would recommend buying the Cooler Master 690 for value/money, also the Cooler Master Centurion 5.
Just don't get the bundled PSUs if you plan on doing anything serious with your CPU/GPU.

I'm using Omega 3.8.205 and the X-Fi drivers that came on the CD. Maybe I need to update the X-Fi drivers because of the new BF2 patch?
I'll try it and report back
I've tried Low, Medium, High, and Ultra-High, all yield the same result.
This really sucks, the only reason I bought the new sounds card and speakers was to play BF2 :(
I have the X-Fi Extreme Music edition, the only solitary issue I have with it since I bought it a week or two ago is that; Whenever I try to enable X-Fi as the audio renderer in the "Options > Audio" tab, and click "Apply" the game immediately crashes to desktop.
According to Creative, the...
What do you have in mind?
Words of advice, Tygon isn't truly anti-kink, your tubes will get cloudly if you use dye, and if you're going to have tight angles, use outer plastic coils to keep the tubes straight
Quick question, what does IQ stand for in terms of video cards? I've seen it used a couple times, but never quite got it.
And just so this post isn't a complete waste.. here's my watercooled system, rocking the 9800 Pro
I want to stay ATi, because I don't want to buy another vid card waterblock, and have to redo my system... so would the x850 Pro be the best (AGP) overclocker on the ATi side?
I mostly just play BF2, and of course the normal stuff (play media, download files via torrent, burn DVD's.. etc)
I have 2x 512mb sticks of Corsair XMS in 2-2-2-5 right now, on an overclocked 2.8c, should I add the extra 512mb stick in there, even though it's not matched to the other two...
PM Cathar and see if you can get a hold of his 3 port White Water block, best waterblock I have ever come across. Keeps my 2.8C @ 3.5GHz idling at room temperature, and under load it only increases by 5c ;)
It's your card.
I had pretty much the same problem from exactly the same card (mine was Sapphire). I was getting those purple artifacts, then I wouldn't be able to boot at all. I took the card out of the system for 48 hours, on the suggestion of someone here. After putting it back in, I still...
I want to build a few different systems at various price, all A64 939 pin. Thinking of selling them to a few friends of mine, I was wondering if you guys can help me with selecting the hardware? I already have cases, PSU's, and one of the monitors.
Was thinking of DFI motherboards for the...
I think it's the X800GTO2 that you're thinking of ;)
I'll consider a 6800.. but do you think an overclocked GT would beat out an overclocked X800 XL/XT ?
My Sapphire 9800p used to do that, until I added a 92mm fan blowing from the bottom of the case up at it... now it never gets above 55c and doesn't reboot or lockup anymore. :D
Spending a max of $300.. I need an ATi card to go with Maze4 ATi waterblock. Good CPU overclockability with a temp sensor would be best. Looking to replace my Sapphire 9800 Pro.
Alright, I'll consider smaller drives... and yes I do have the pump already. Even then though... I couldn't find any flow specifications for the D5... though I do see that it's $76 (ouch) with a rhetostat. My 350 was less than $30. :o
And you're saying I won't notice a difference in access...
Alright then.. how does this sound?
DFI SLI-D Motherboard

AeroCool 550w PSU

I don't think either of them make a dual core motherboard. If I can find a DFI I'll definitely get it though, I hear they're the best when it comes to overclocking.
Yeah, I brought everything back to stock when I started having the problem, thinking it was my OC was just unstable, but I get the same problem when everything is at stock speeds.
btw: I managed to do the screensaver "trick" before it froze up on me, and it's been up for about 2 and a half...
I could... but I've never had any problem with the RAM, and I've used it for over 2 years.
Plus it locks up during everything, BIOS hardware monitor, ASUS boot logo, loading Windows XP, it even sometimes locks up before the monitor has a chance to turn on. But I guess I could try different...
I need to flash my BIOS because I beleive it's causing the random lockups in my computer... but when I try to do it I get this error message.
edit: here's the original thread if anyone's interested, maybe a BIOS flash won't solve my problems...
I had been stable from not too long after I posted that, up until this morning. And now I'm getting those lockups again.
Even today when trying to restart, the computer would freeze even before a picture would be put on the screen at first boot, leaving me with an idling monitor. Other times...
Thanks for the help, so I just turn up the DDQ voltage a bit? And I bought the card in February of 2004, taking off the waterblock is a bit more work than I care to do right now, if the XT wasn't even made at that time.
I've got the core at 411 from 378, and the memory at 343 from 338. AGP DDQ Voltage is at 1.5v... even though I'm not so sure on what that means. The computer locks up at 413Mhz, but I'm sure it's quite cool since I have a Maze4 waterblock over it, and my OC'ed CPU idles at 25C which is on the...
My computer completely locks up at random times, sometimes it's at the first ASUS boot screen, other times when XP is loading, some other times just after I exit a game... or during web browsing.
At first I thought my system was just unstable from overclocking... but then I reset the CMOS...
The case is an ASUS Vento 3600, and the motherboard is an Albatron K8SLI
Not sure on what an ACPI LED is, but the intrusion switch detects if the side panel has been opened or not, it has two wires coming from it attached to a three slot connector.
There's also a reset switch that...
