Ok I have a question here about my fairly recent Overclocking of a E6300. I have a E6300, Gigabyte 965-DS3 with ver F3 of the Bios. I have a BFG 7900GT and 512 meg x 4 of corsair DDR6400 5-5-5-12 ram.
Now here is the strange part. When I am running things like Super Pi and such the overclock...
I only ran it for 45 min at that time but last night I ran 2 copies for 7 hours and it was perfect. I am just amazed at almost 1 ghz overclock is as stable as this on air. I got lucky picking the gbyte motherboard too it looks like. This overclock was just a nice number that I decided to run at...
Yeah I understand that it's not really Serious but I think, it's a big step up from Slapping random 250 gig hard drive in thier current computers and considering the data safe as it is now. I guess Serious wasn't the right word, Some Redundancy would be the more accurate term, Serious as in...
Budget is about $1000 US
Serious Redundancy is for Art Files that are updated and changed Daily. Current Size is about 350gb. We arent talking military grade redundacy but they have been burned too many times with hard drives going bad, and have finaly come to me wanting a real solution...
I have a Client that is in need of a seriously Redundant Network storage solution. I am looking for a box with 100mb - 1000mb ethernet with capacity of around 500gb to 1tb setup in raid 1 (mirror)
I am currently trying to decide whether or not to get a inexpensive shuttle barebones and slap 2...
Be carefull Modding windows into those hard drives I remember reading from Mashie that not many or no bigger modern hard drives have been sucessfully moded. Granted I dont know if there have been newer sucesses but I posted the link below.

OK well the motherboard came in and it is 190mm, thats the good news. Now on with the bad news, There is no P4 12v ATX connector on the power supply, So I used a splitter and modded in one from a old PSU. The Ram is too high and too close to the CD/DVD drive to put it in the case :( , So I am...
I have a passthough 4 pin connector that I cut off a old fan, What I need to know is if I can Wire into it, a 4 pin atx p4 power connector. I have seen adapters for sale but would just like to do it myself and get it done. I notice that both of the yellow wires are connected to the yellow wire...
Measureing the Case it looks like it should fit just fine. I had almost 8.25 inches front to back right up against the hard drive bay. I went with the PC chips motherboard to give the ram a little room with the 5-1/4 drive looming close.
Well this is what I am going to try
AMD Duron 1.8 ghz 1.5 volts (Should be low enough for the power supply)
PCCHIPS "M851G V1.5" VIA KM400 Chipset (One listed above as fitting)
Masscool Socket A/ 370 1U Low Profile Fan with all Copper Heatsink
Dlink Wireless card
GeForce 4 440 MX (This...
I picked up this case pretty darn cheap on Ebay a while back and am going to make a HTPC out of it in the near furture. I am interested if anyone else's experince with this case and which mATX motherboards might fit in it. It looks like it only has a 95w power supply which I am skeptical as to...
Ok I know this goes against the Idea of bit torrent downloading but it works with blizard downloads for some reason. Use Netlimiter or some sort of bandwith limiting software and limit the upstream to like 5kbps. I just downloaded the patch in about 2 min at 100kbps. I am not really satisfied as...
I've done alot with computers and alot of small networks. But I really don't fully understand the purpose of patch pannels or how they work. Could anyone explain, maybe give a good site with pictures of the way patch pannels work.
Mail Order Spray Paint? Can you come up north cause I live in Upstate NY and I don't think there are laws up here about that. Been a long time since I was 15 but some guy at home depot isn't gonna care.
Yeah they don't make Step bits that will do up to 3" at least not at a price that is reasonable. You could have one custom made but we aren't talking reasonable. There are hole saws that are for cutting Ferris and Non-Ferris metals (Non-Ferris = Stuff without Iron basicly, Copper, Alum). The...
Fat32 and windows 95/98 are pretty forgiving about switching hard drives and still booting up, NTFS and win2k winXP are not. You wouldn't want to run the system for a long time after switching it but you can get all the data off and run for a few weeks it just has alot of extra drivers and stuff...

What kind of monitor are you useing? My guess is the monitor makes alot more heat than the computer itself. Not sure if LCD's are cooler but really monitors make alot of heat and that is prob something you could do something about by looking into a LCD.
My Prescott runs at about 46C under a normal load. Thats with the boxed retail heatsink and fan. I don't thank thats an excessive amount of heat. Granted the boxed fan does have a copper core.
