Thanks Hemi for the clarification. Thats the reason I was given on one of the support forums, in retrospect it does sound fishy.... I may have selected a high security on installation, don't remember. I know I could not login via ssh as any user unless that option was uncommented.
Hi, what did you install was it FreeBSD 5.3?
Things to remember :
- FreeBSD won't let you ssh in as root. A good security measure. Login as another user, and SU to root:
-bash-2.05b$ su -l
Password:
root@freebsd53_vm:~ #
- In FreeBSD 5.3, password authentication has been disabled...
Titanium .... that is so true. After using a dell 19" lcd @ 1280x1024, I decided to go for something with a 1600x1200 native res. Better bang for the buck, esp. if you do a lot of content creation etc..
