I was going to do the same, but seeing as how the backlight bleed with this monitor is such a gamble, i decided to go the costco route since its much easier to return and deal with costco rather than LG.
I wasn't too worried about the glow. But the orange-ish bleed looks exactly like what you see in the picture. It is hard for me to compromise with its high price tag ($900).
I bought another one from costco. I don't want to deal with LG so i figured i might as well pay little extra and get...
Does anyone know why there are two models for this? 34um95-p and 34um94-p .. macmall, provatange and others are selling 34um94-p at a far lower price...

Got my LG from adorama couple of days ago. After setup, i did a backlight bleed test and i also have orange glow around the corners. Thinking about returning it considering the price tag that this monitor carries.
thank you for the heads up. I believe someone else also mentioned that same thing in this thread.
So maybe now we can see if AOC releases their 34" model on time? Would definitely love to see head to head review when both are out on the market
I have read people who ordered from bhp last month have yet to receive their monitor. I ordered from adorama and i am in the same situation as well.
I would be surprised if the estimated ship date is actually accurate
Anyone ordered through Adorama? I just called them for an update and was told that there is a shipping delay(another two weeks from the original march 19th date).. ugh!
comparing two different beasts. $20 for minimal updates vs $50 for a major upgrade.
Give it some time. i sure people will come up with ways for windows 8 to boot up to desktop directly.
geez guys, does every w8 thread have to turn into a hate fest? If you don't like windows 8 then don't buy it.
Some of us actually prefer new UI over the old. It is much more clean and refined.
I believe it is $14 for people who purchased Windows 7 PCs/Windows 7 OS in the last two months. Otherwise it is $40 for upgrade download through Windows 7/8 RP
You can do a clean install with Windows 7 upgrade disc/key. I guess only time will tell if we can do the same with Windows 8 upgrade...
You can officially pre order Windows 8 software discs now. If you are like me and prefer the retail packaging, you can get it at newegg for $69.99 - EMCJNJH82 ($10) = $59.99 w/ free shipping.
OR you can pay $39.99 for the download only.
