Let's see.. I have an EVGA X58 3X SLI with a Xeon 6 core (was it L5639?) in it collecting dust here. Has 6x4GB DDR3 sitting in it.
I'm currently sitting at my work workstation which is an ASRock X99 Extreme4 with an i7-5820K in it. I sold its twin a few months ago, but still have the...

Nice to see this thread still going. Just had a PM for one of the few remaining games from my old list. I really slowed down on the bundles, as wife / kids / life took front seat to games, but i do still love this [H]ard community and I'm glad to see others' loyalty to it as well.
I love my 32" 1440p. Fit more on the screen while keeping a reasonable text size at native res. Gaming on it is much more immersive than the 22 or even 27 i had before it.
I had a guy come in to my shop several months ago who worked on several of the early NASA missions. He had programmed a number of those early systems in machine code etc. Im a bit fuzzy on it all now. He also talked about how he had dumpster dove behind Apple's first store and had recovered some...
lol you beat me to it. yeah, i got those errors too, but give it a few refreshes and a few minutes and you'll be good. i already had the game, but the DLC i did not, so cool!

Says it excludes tech but perhaps you need something from a different category that IS eligible
Ive had excellent luck with rufus on my 16gb and 64gb drives. The only problems ive had were when my antivirus would get angry with rufus making something bootable and stop it before it could finish.
Its got a bit of Mississippi Leg Hound in it...
I wonder this too. I read an article last week or so that claimed something like 60% of the internet traffic is fake. Click Farms and the like, in order to generate more revenue to the ad companies. So you have to wonder if these ads are actually bringing in any real business, or enough to...
And not in Braille, or showing enough diversity, or showing a white person smiling while a black person is frowning. There's no end to it.
I also would cancel my Netflix subscription if the ads start showing. That really IS the single biggest draw i have to Netflix. I DONT want to see...
Use the media creation tool to download the iso. Then download Rufus and use that the make your usb install disk. In some cases. Antivirus actually blocks the media creation from completing. My GData's behaviour monitoring would block mine from finishing for some reason
I don't mind if Windows wants to create a permanent service area for updates. But hopefully they clean up the space after the update finishes. Last thing we need is it filling up the service area, then deciding "hey, i need more space. I'll just hide another 7gb chunk to use".
man i am so jelly. my cost just went up to $109 up from $69 for 200/25 i believe + basic tv, since i am now out of the promotion period. That's how you reward customers who always pay their bills on time and don't cause problems.
you do get 2 months out of 12 consecutive that you can go over without penalty, but yeah, you could potentially have a "fast car" and still only get to travel so many miles. those miles just burn up a lot faster.
Question is, "is there a 1tb/mo data cap"? And is it 1g up and down, or their typical 35m on the upside.
Personally, i have 200mbit at home comcast. It started out at 75 and they kept doing free upgrades. Unless you frequently do big downloads you probably won't see a difference
I switched from Avira to GData a few years ago. It has bitdefender as one of its two engines. Out of the 800 or so endpoints i have deployed it on, none have gotten viruses or had problems of that nature. It catches a lot of stuff and actually does something useful about what it does catches.
Free version does routing, firewall, QoS, OpenVPN, TunnelVPN, basic gateway antivirus (clamwin, iirc), ad blocking, intrusion prevention.
Paid version (business and home are the same features) also has IPSecVPN, Web Cache, load balancing / failover, email filtering, bandwidth control...
I switched from pfsense at my office to untangle a few years ago. Pfsense is a great router distro, but once i tried untangle there was no looking back. Much easier to configure and just as solid. Adblocking is available.
The openvpn support is there even in free version. You can try it out...
If i saw this earlier i would have said just build your own.
pfsense or untangle on 2 gigabit cards in an old core 2 duo machine would have been dandy!
My laptop was stolen last week, and so it's time to shed some weight and buy a new one.
I have a stack of 44 brand new 1TB working pull laptop hard drives of various brands, mainly Seagate and Western Digital. Drive will arrive wiped with DBAN.
Selling for $25 each, shipped. I would like to...
Im banking on it automatically connecting to some nearby Xfinity wifi or other public hotspot, since the only account on it is my Microsoft Account and it won't be generally accessible. Theyll have to sit there and try a few basic passwords, maybe attempt to connect the wifi to see if that helps..
I'm not sure if this is the best forum for this topic, but someone ought to have ideas.
My laptop was stolen 2 days ago, and wouldn't you know it, i didn't have all my security duckies in a row yet.
The only account on it was my microsoft login with a fairly strong password, and i would use...
Do you not remember the keyboards with the Sleep Wake and Power buttons? Bump one of those and "$#!+" Worse was that, back then, sleep and wake took a fair bit of time to do their thing, and iirc were not very reliable.
