I have my Caazc 0441 FX-55 up for sale, if anyone is interested in buying a FX-55 at a very good price. This chip overclocks very well on any cooling, and the fx name will speak for its performance. It is an OEM chip bought from Monarch Computers with the extended 3 year direct replacement...
I am selling my 2x256MB pair of GSkill TCCD if anyone is looking for a great set of RAM at a great price. I have used them very little in my bench rig, and they clock very high at low voltages.
These chips are capable of 2.5-3-3-7 @ 305 with only 2.7v. If you want more, they have run...
I only use the backplate heater and it runs at 25% all the time and I've never had any problems. I've kept my LS rig on for months and never seen a drop. As long as you have a good seal and the proofing is done right...you should never have any problems.
The FX-57 should be here around April, but the prices are looking to be sky high. You can expect price tags between $1000 and $1200 for the 57, which is a real hike over the $800 FX-55.
I'm still getting one ASAP, but I hope AMD doesn't keep the price raping up for long.
Me too! It seems like its been a long time since I was benching. I have been so busy with other things, that its crazy. It's funny how your main hobby and after work activity can easily get side-tracked and pushed down the list.
I sold the single stage Baker cooler, and bought another LS...
I'm actually in the process now of doing a new full system and LS mod. I'm gonna start with the stock vapo and see what I can accomplish on the FX-55. Then I'll swap the fans and make some easy adjustments, run it again. After that, I'm gonna replace the stock condensor with a larger 6 row...
Yeah, I just hope I can go from the Vapo 24/7 to the auto pretty easily. He uses the Vapo clamshell on his systems, so if I provide enough insulation from the start...it should be okay.
I've got a few guys interested in the cooler, so hopefully it will sell. If I can sell it, it will help...
Well guys, my work schedule is about to take a drastic change due to a new position...so it looks like my precious bench time will be cut even more. I'll be on the road for about 2 weeks a month, which sucks.
I just placed an order with PC_ICE to build me a autocascade like he displayed at...
My powerfull Baker18 made CPU cooler is now up for sale, so if you are looking for the most powerful single stage PS unit you can buy...this is the one.
The specs:
10K BTU Rotary Compressor
R22 refrig gas
Special Edition Baker Block
Baker Evap Enclosure and hold-down
This unit is...
The LA is good stuff, espcially the 2x256 kit. It's much easier on mem controllers than 1gig sets, which makes it a + for benching and OC'ing.
You should have no problem hitting 8K Corn, 8.5K shouldn't be hard either. I hope the new revision Winchesters have a mem controller closer to the...
Don't expect to see anything soon. Making a compact yet effective GPU chiller for James is going to be a chore. I went a picked up some compressors tonight, but they are all too big for what I'm wanting to do. Once I get the compressor picked out, I'll start a thread in the Extreme cooling...
LOL, James you better get a bigger case so you can use the chiller I'm putting together for you :D Hmmm...chiller on top, Vapo on bottom?
PM me here or at VO when you get a chance, I've got some plans.
True, but if it would help slightly...it's worth it. I have used them and not used them in many single stage builds, and sometimes it helped...sometimes it didn't. When going for the lowest temp possible, why not try everything? It takes a few minutes to build, a few minutes to braze in, and...
It looks good, although I can give some little tips that may help you in the long run.
- Your filter/drier would be better off with a slight downward angle, with the capline running out the bottom. Let gravity do the work for you. It should work like you have it, I just always like to have...
When it comes to my gaming rig, I'm alot harder on stability. When it comes to my benching rig though, it's whatever gets the highest score.
Everyone has their own degree of how far they will go. Some people throw fans on the condensor, open windows, put their comps in refrig units...
If it can pass a LH or Nature, it's stable enough for me. I usually run a SiSandra mem test, and if that passes...it's on to 2001. Knowing which test stress which part of the system really help, because then you know where to be cautious, and where not to.
I always hold my breath during a...
If you had a X800XT PCI-E instead of the X850, you would be in the 40K range. The X850 cards are clock for clock slower than the X800XT. I haven't found out why yet, but I know its true.
I think you about maxed the system without some vmods. If you could squeeze more CPU power, you could...
Just a Baker block alone would probaly net you a few MHz, but not 150-200. The main difference in his block and the stock LS is deltaT from idle to load. Recovery time is also alot quicker.
For the best results, I would send it to Baker and have him put his block and enlosure on it, as...
I can run the GPU cooler for about 4-5HRS before frost gets the best of it. I can get tons of benches in that time, considering I don't have to wait in between benches. PS on the video card isn't for 24/7 use, but it isn't restricted to one or two runs.
Thanks
It's supposed to be pretty cold here over the weekend at night, so hopefully I'll have the PSU back by then. Larry calls me everyday to give updates, and he's hoping they'll have it done tomorrow. He's gonna next day it back to me, to try and get it by the weekend.
Even if it not cold...
I've got a BBA and a Sapphire. Both are doing just as well as the other.
James and I both are guninng for 40K...I've got to get my PSU back from PC Power, and then I'll be up and running again. I've got everything mounted, just waiting on the PSU :(
With those volts, what is the LS reading? The FX would be putting off a pretty good heat load at those voltages under load. My LS is starting to suffer from warmer temps, and loads around -35C now.
With the Baker cooler, I've run 2.0v thru a FX-55 with load temps around -50C...the LS just...
LOL, the DFI Nf4 boards use a trick when they go sub-zero. It will auto add 255C to whatever the actual temp is. This is supposed to help the Winchester cold boot issue, but it has not been tested yet.
In the example above, the actual temp would be -13C, since you take 242-255. I'm sure...
What temps were you getting before you changed the system? What kinda temps have your previous systems gotten? Do you have any pics of complete systems?
Thanks
Looks nice gcl, keep up the good work. What temps do you get with your 2 stage setups? What gasses will you be using for this system?
Nice work Breaker, looks good. What was the temp of the evap when that pic was taken?
Custom is the only way to go. My system cost less than a LS, and...
I have a brand new S939 MSI K8N Neo4 Ultra that I need to sell.
I bought 2 of these boards from NewEgg last week, and paid over $160 for them. I have now ordered a DFI SLI-DR and I need to sell one of the MSI boards. The board is still in its retail box, as I have not opened it.
I am...
That's cool. I really don't have anyone interested in the case. E-mail me at the addy I gave, or PM me here when you find out for sure.
I will split shipping cost with you.
BTW: There is a 120MM intake fan that blows air over the HDD in the cage. I didnt get a shot of it, but all stock...
I have a CoolerMaster Stacker case that I used for less than 2 weeks I would like to sell if anyone is looking for a very good full size case.
The case is in great shape. I changed out the stock exhaust grill for a 120MM Bio-hazard grill and 120MM Blue LED fan. I will send the 2 factory...
The Neo4 Ultra and SLI boards are very good, very stable. You need to do a vcore mod to get anywhere on PS, and it only takes about 5 minutes.
My DFI should be here this week, and then we'll start playing again. James and I both have been busy ironing out plans...but its coming :D
My Neo4 Ultra should be here tomorrow, so the X850XT-PE will be up and running hopefully by tomorrow night. It'll get sent out this weekend for a full vmod treatment, and gpu cooler prep.
Stay Tuned
BTW: It's been a bit dead around here lately, eh?
This week I'll have some benches up.
The X850XT-PE was supposed to be here on Friday, but it didn't arrive. I hope it comes tomorrow, so I can go ahead and vmod it.
I'll keep you informed. There are also more pics and info on my site, just didn't want to post them all here.
I finally got some good pics of the Baker made R22 Cooler the other night, so I figured I would post them up. The pics are pretty self explanatory, but let me know if you have any questions.
Here's the cooler and mobo setup:
Here's a closeup of the cooling head mounted...
I'd get the dual cascade, and keep the X800XT-PE you have now. Pick up a nice custom GPU cooler and have fun with it.
The only benches right now that SLI take advantage of are 2003 and 2005. 2001 and AM3 don't play well right now. I say go for 2001 spots, as they are still revered as...
I'm selling a pratically brand new set of Crucial Ballistix PC4000 2 x 512MB.
These sticks do the following speeds and timings on my Neo2 / FX-55:
2-2-2-5 up to 215MHz
2.5-3-3-6 up to 255MHz
3-3-3-6 up to 275MHz
Voltage for all was at or under 2.85v.
I am asking $200 +...
