MicroCenter has a different motherboard but a similar combo for $149.98 after rebates. This is such a better deal and I'd love to get one but unlike the MicroCenter a few miles away, there is no Fry's here. It makes me sad. :(
I think the last time there was a combo like this at Fry's the...
Those dirty ... Even when they offer something online so I can actually get a hook-up they go and bone me just a few days later with their stores.
At least there's no sales tax in CO as a result of no stores here. :p
Call me retarded if you must but why the hell can't I figure out if this is an OEM or retail processor in this combo?
I feel like I'm staring at the side of a barn but still can't shoot it.
Anyone know the answer to that, deffinitively? -- OEM vs Retail, not why I can't see it. ;)
Marketing people always come up with weird ways of making me leary, it seems. Seems cool, though. I might get this with that heatsink if I can find a decent, inexpensive AGP card to put in it to make a gaming type machine for the GF. Hmm.
Any clue why that CoolerMaster heatsink says Sempron 3500+ or Higher under 'Application'?
Is there some significant difference between the 3100+ and the 3500+ and higher that should be glaringly obvious to me?
So you're saying that because a person visits two or three forums a day they're required to cross-post deals they read on one in another (or even the same) forum?
That makes absolutely no sense and is very discurteous to Mr. Monarch who seems to be trying to:
1) Generate more business with...
You could be me and have ordered that same ASUS board two days ago from some place that had the 'lowest price'... Lost $23 or so by not waiting for this deal to come around. That'll teach me to not believe in Mr. Monarch. After all, he did say he was looking into it.
Beg harder. You'll get...
I don't deny the price but the reviews on this particular build / model aren't that good on NewEgg. Only two reviews and both of them say it died and they had to send it back.
I don't know what to think, really. Maybe someone else has used one of these and can provide some more insightful...
Hey! No copying. ;)
That's what I was going to get here probably this / next week.
I guess if more of us ask for such deals then I'm more likely to find a good price come order time, though.
So maybe give them a heads up in a more appropriate forum like the applicable AMD / Intel processor forums?
The fact that Intel is going to drop their prices in two months is not a hot deal.
In two months, almost everything in the hardware world will have dropped prices.
Come on. Unless you're going to actually post a link to a deal on a processor, put this in some other discussion thread. Just like the AMD thread that is going no where, I suspect this will just turn into a rant about nothing of any importance and will have no immediate bearing on current CPU...
I was expecting people to say something baout this since it seems to be a pretty good price. However, nothing seems to have occured.
Anyone have any opinions / experience with this RAM at all?
I'm just waiting for the guy who bought something with a coupon to try to return / exchange for something while using his incorrect invoce as 'proof' of his payment amount. (Ie. Some dork trying to get swindle the $ saved back in some sale purchase / return scam.)
That's about the time we get...
When I paid for my 165 I used PayPal because it was listed as prefered by Monarch. So I figured I'd give it a try having never done it before. As a result, I can be garaunteed that my card wasn't directly charged the wrong amount. Besides that, I got it yesterday and my bank shows the correct...
I'll admit the Shark has its appeal as well. However, I don't intend to mess with the HDD bays too much and can suffer through the initial setup. The asthetics / external setup of the silver windowed Tsunami will fit my desk area better than the Shark.
If only I could build as many PCs as I'd...
Call me ignorant but this says it's for: Socket T (LGA 775) / Socket 478 & AMD K7 / K8
How did you use this on a socket 939? Are the clips for any of these the same as those used on socket 939 boards? Or, did you buy the same type of system in a different setup and therefor this isn't that...
I have a complaint...
Either I'm going blind (highly possible) or under that survey question, when making a new account, asking where you heard about Monarch from: There is no option for [H]ard|OCP / [H]ard|Forum, as far as I could tell. There were options for other deal listing type sites...
That's one way of looking at it. However, since I was going to buy this to build my new system with, it's a bit of a downer to me. I guess I'll hold out for a couple of weeks to save up more pennies for hardware.
That'll teach me to go watch the Avalanch play instead of ordering computer...
If the VA3000SWA Tsunami ever had a deal I'd be more interested. It seems like that mofo never gets a break. I've seen the VA3000BWA black one quite a few times but never spot the silver one. I was hoping this thread would end that streak.
Oh well. :(
Considering I am going to be building a new PC soon and I want a cheap dual core processor, I'd be all about doing this. However, like so many other good Fry's deals, I'm boned since they don't have a Fry's in the Denver area.
Of course it would be a miracle if anyone ever price matched these...
Move now. Use that nice connection to finish remotely.
Take classes / do project work from afar and transfer credit / travel back for important presentations or something.
:p
Stupid black one again.
I see deals like this for the VA3000BWA now and then.
However, I want the silver one so I keep holding off.
Has anyone ever seen a deal for the VA3000SWA?

I don't know if I can jump on this. It's a good deal and all but I don't think my liquid nitrogen cooling system will fit into this case. Aside from that, I don't know how well it'll launch into space so I can get the vacuum enviroment I like to have my systems work in.
