Marketing people always come up with weird ways of making me leary, it seems. Seems cool, though. I might get this with that heatsink if I can find a decent, inexpensive AGP card to put in it to make a gaming type machine for the GF. Hmm.

Any clue why that CoolerMaster heatsink says Sempron 3500+ or Higher under 'Application'? Is there some significant difference between the 3100+ and the 3500+ and higher that should be glaringly obvious to me?

I don't deny the price but the reviews on this particular build / model aren't that good on NewEgg. Only two reviews and both of them say it died and they had to send it back. I don't know what to think, really. Maybe someone else has used one of these and can provide some more insightful...

So maybe give them a heads up in a more appropriate forum like the applicable AMD / Intel processor forums? The fact that Intel is going to drop their prices in two months is not a hot deal. In two months, almost everything in the hardware world will have dropped prices.

That's one way of looking at it. However, since I was going to buy this to build my new system with, it's a bit of a downer to me. I guess I'll hold out for a couple of weeks to save up more pennies for hardware. That'll teach me to go watch the Avalanch play instead of ordering computer...

Considering I am going to be building a new PC soon and I want a cheap dual core processor, I'd be all about doing this. However, like so many other good Fry's deals, I'm boned since they don't have a Fry's in the Denver area. Of course it would be a miracle if anyone ever price matched these...
