I think it has to do with the amount of ram - If you only have 512 MB it will only use 64? If you have 1gb more it'll use up to 224. That would be my guess since integrated graphics use your ram if I'm not mistaken.

In my opinion, if you're building a new system/ getting a new mobo, cpu and RAM, then a conroe system is the way to go (assuming cheap/stable mobos come out). On the other hand, if you have 1gb or 2gb of DDR and you need a new cpu/mobo, then you're best off getting a 939 mobo and an 3800 x2...

I think it's pretty tough, but overall I'd say unless you're going to be doing a ton of 3d stuff (games,etc) that the 128 mb vid card will suffice for word processing, etc . But yeah at this point I'd wait for a merom mac book myself, unless you're dying to upgrade.
