Carlsbad CA PC Club = The Suck
La Mesa CA PC Club = The Suck
Even the Mira Mesa CA PC Club = The Suck
I have had more negative experiences at PC Club than positive experiences. Why did I keep going back? I am a masochist! Aside from single sale items, PC Club is worthless. The...
I am looking on the bright side...it was the video card barb that leaked...and dripped. Had it been one of the chipset or CPU barbs, I would be looking at wed motherboard components....ugg.
3/8" ...a 1/4 turn of the screw driver and I haven't leaked since last night when it was discovered....and even if it did leak...it would drop on to the case floor as I don't have anything under the video card right now.
Rest in Peace `o Sound Blaster Audigy. For you are my first casualty in my fight for cooling. I have been water cooling for years, with my first water cooling rig being one of the original Koolance cases, with nary a drop of water leaking. Alas, when I returned from walking the dog to...
Yes...it would have to be Intel as I seriously doubt you could shove an AMD CPU in to a socket 478 MB...
Now that I am done being a smart-ass...I can't help you. I don't "DO" Intel, though my best guess would be to go with the more cache and overclock.
Again...let me repeat...publishers make little if ANYTHING from subscriptions. Even if you raised the subscription price by 4, there is no way in hell that would compensate for the revenue lost if you lowered the ad to editorial ratio to even 50:50.
A full page ad in PC Mag probably costs...
No...I said that the RATIO is about the same. 10 years ago there may have been 60-80 more pages, which means there was more content than there is now (but more ads as well).
Now, the ratios I am quoting are IN GENERAL. The more pages of ads you sell, the less advertising per page you...
I bought 2 spindles of the DVD-R to qualify for free shipping. I did have to cough up $1.30 in taxes...
Still a good deal though.
It just so happens that I am down to about 25 DVD-R's. I now need to look around for some CD deals as I am down to only about 4 or 5 blank CDs...
NOTE...
I can't grab this deal because, while I love Newegg and use them all the time, I can not accept their incredibly lame dead pixil policy. 8 dead pixils before a return is accepted? Assinine!
"** Dead Pixels Policy: Replacement or Refund for 8 or more dead pixels only. "
Who thought of...
It's funny you should use the word "FEEDBACK" in your topic name...
...because EBAY has this thing called FEEDBACK that helps a person determine if the reseller is a dipshit or someone worth trusting.
According to the link you provide....this guy has 110 transactions with a 100% positive...
I am in the publishing business. The company I work for produces Sea Magazine, Go Boating Magazine and The Log Newspaper. They are all boating related publcations.
I can tell you for sure that (a) Magazines make VERY LITTLE off subscriptions. Most of the time, they are breaking even...
I have personally never used the PC CLUB website, but I have visited a number of their stores in San Diego (Carlsbad, San Diego, & La Mesa). The La Mesa store is no longer there...one of the 15 they closed evidently.
My experiences with PC Club are mixed. I've gotten some decent deals...
At the risk of being "off topic"...I couldn't let the following comment go unchallenged:
Are you stoned? Are you actually saying that a person needs 2 7950's to compete with a single X1900XT? Please provide proof...ANY proof of this claim...else you are full of shit.
Now...back on...
Price is now up to $3.99 for 1-2 and $3.49 for 3+....
...still came to $24.36 total shipped for 5 fans which is $4.87 per fan shipped...not bad. I didn't have to pay sales tax.
Oklahoma guy paid sales tax because the vendor is in OK.
Gainward = ASSTASTIC. Extremely poor customer service. Extremely poor customer notification. Extremely poor company to deal with.
I, for one, was happy to see them pull out of the US market.
I own one of their Ti4200 cards...do a search and you just may discover why I recommend to...
I only have one video card horror story. Unfortunately it took months and months to resolve...and actually STILL may not be resolved.
I was one of the unlucks son-of-a-bitches that ended up purchasing a GAINWARD GeForce Ti4200. This particular card from this particular manufacturer has...
Is the case still in working order? What kind of condition? Cost? Will you throw in the blocks? If so, which ones do you have?
PS: No divorce, no 2 households for your kids to go to, no problems...all it takes is a couple ounces of lead traveling at a high velocity.
Clicking the NEWEGG link above indicates there are quite a number of different manufacturers 7900's available to ship RIGHT NOW at newegg.com.
Sounds like it's just about time for the ATI phan-boy to step off his soapbox.
My first couple video cards were crappy VGA cards that had absolutely no 3d accelleration. The following cards are what I have owned since my first "3d accelerated" card...
Diamond Stealth 3D (The sucktasticness of this card is overwhelming)
Diamond Monster 3D (3DFX Voodoo 1) + the above...
I too am a little more than disappointed that the 7900 GTX was not represented. This review would have been kickass had it come out a month and a half ago...but to come out NOW without Nvidia's latest and greatest represented is just assinine. It gives the appearance of either (a)...

Opteron 165 @ 2.7ghz, 2GB RAM, single 7800GT @ 492 core / 1.2 memory (for some reason it says 450 core in the compare though?)
Nope on both accounts. This happens when I only run the computer. The computer is at the back of the house, the garage door the front of the house. I have tried different circuits (but shouldnt have had to cuz it IS a different circuit...and I know my car keyless entry isn't hooked up to...
I was not sure where to put this post...but since I am dealing with an overclocked computer, here it goes...
I am having a SEVERE problem with Electro-Magnetic Interference. When my computer is on, (a) my garage door opener will not operate with the remote (the wall mounted wired...
Strange as it may seem...running my 3200+ Quake 4 ran perfectly...and it still does with the Opteron 165 I recently installed, but now, for some odd reason, it takes a full 30 seconds longer to "load menues" right when starting the game...as soon as it loads up, everything else is smooth and...
Actually...I work for a publishing company that produces national magazines and regional speciality newspapers and I have 15+ years of marketing experience.
My Monarch 0547 core failed prime @ 2.7GHz last night after 1 hour 55 minutes...but then again I was only posting 1.37v core. I am more than confident if I pump it up to 1.425 it would stabilize. That said, I am now looking for 2.8GHz. I think I can get it stable, but may require 1.5v or...
You were doing so well with your argument there until you get to "I guess you know everything though right?". At that point you turn your opinion in to a flame of sorts. At that point you ruin any kind of validity to your argument as you descend in to childish jibes in an apparent attempt to...
I sort of wanted to post this in the Intel forum, but fear that it would be deleted for "trolling" I figured I better stick it here in the AMD forum. That said, I am not trolling, but expressing my opinion....
WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE NEW INTEL "REVAMP"? Intel - Leap Ahead?!? What...
Hello ladies & gentlemen...
I recently upgraded from a 6800GT to a 7800GT. I am now looking to possibly sell my 6800GT, however, due to the fact that I was watercooling the 6800GT, and added copper RAMsinks, I can not put the stock cooler back on...nor will the NVSilencer fit. The...
Opteron 165 @ 2.835GHz (333x8.5)
Voltage @ 1.525
Memory REALLY loose...much testing to be done on that end...
Stability: Almost there. I can run prime x2 for hours, but I crash out of 3DMark 03 (05 and 01 run fine). Also, Quake 4 crashes to desktop after about 10 minutes of play...
