Saw this picture on a Dutch forum, thought it was nice to share.
The guy has all the hi-end cards, from the first 7000 to the latest R9-290X.
Only the 9800XT, X1800 and 6990 are not on the picture.
Edit: the picture won't open here, so here is a link to the forum post...
It doesn't matter what i try, TrSSAA, TrMSAA, or Tr off, Oblivion looks and performs the same. So is Tr AA not working or is it always on?
I've tried various drivers but no difference. Is it me or?
(btw, HDR+ normal AA works, i mean specific the Transparancy AA part)
Welcome to the most sexy looking card of the year award. :) We're not talking about performance here, or features, or pros and cons. No, we're looking for the most hot and sexy looking card. So throw away your !!!!!!ism for a moment, and vote for the card which turns you on a little, just for...
With current drivers, according the German site PCWelt.

Well, according to this Chinese site. Keep a bunch of salt next to you.

I found out that i helped some friends who had performance issue's with the CCC with providing them some small tips which could help in a faster responding CCC, maybe some guys here will like them too:
-On the "display options" tab, select "use manual only".
-On the "3D" tab, disable the 3D...
Most likely no FP HDR+AA support for G71, according Chalnoth @ Beyond3d;
"Just fyi, confirmation just came in from nVidia that their next gen will indeed support HDR+AA, but not the GeForce7 architecture."

Me hugs his X1900XTX. :)
Looks like internal Ati slides, but nevertheless very impressive;

Did you notice the larger pixel on your 24" screen?
It seems that a 20" 1600x1200 LCD has the smallest pixelsize, which should give the "smoothest" image if you like gaming with your nose close to your screen. Or am i wrong?
It's a Sapphire X1800XT OC bios, most likely the one from the future "TOP", "OC" or "XTPE" cards.

The patch ain't out yet, so remember this is a preview. :)
Performance was better than i expected. 1280x1024/4xAA/8xHQAF, HDR rendering 7 was perfectly playable. I can't remember any situation where i went below 30fps, even not in heavy firefights. Well, look at the fps numbers on the...
Got a new cpu, and tried what this baby can do. To my surprise, any oc more than ~214mhz (x11) results in no booting further than the bios.
I tried to downscale the dividers (normal cpu/mem divider is 2/2, i lowered it to 2/1.83 to be sure my mem isn't the bottleneck) but no difference. I even...
The CCC is showing my TV as a attached device, but currently disabled. Normally, to enable it, you put your right mouse-button on the TV icon, and select "clone with main display" (this is how i always did it with my X800).
But now, the right-mouse button doesn't react, it does nothing.
If i...
According http://www.asus.com.cn/trends/newp/...X1800XT-TOP.htm +10k 3DM05.
Altough i don't understand how they will reach 10K with 650/775 mhz. You'll need 725/825 for that. Maybe these speeds are typo's?
Some reviewers in the past mentioned the blocky shadows on Nvidia cards in Farcry, and that this was most likely some kind of Nvidia driver bug. However, almost one year later, it seems that this "bug" still ain't solved yet. Nv cards still show blocky shadows while the Ati cards produce smooth...

Most likely the sheets The Inquirer talked about.
Click link for all the X1800 sheets, also X1300&1600 sheets.
According Inquirer :)
They are on a roll with lots of R520 articles:
http://www.theinq.com/
"A document seen by the INQUIRER claims that ATI will beat Geforce 7800GTX by as much as ninety per cent in the Fear Demo. ATI claims it will end up almost forty per cent faster in Battlefield...
512Mb mem on a card seems very helpfull in the new Call of Duty 2 demo. Look how the X800XL/512 "kills" a X850XTPE, and is in some circumstances even faster than a 7800GTX.
I think the R520 will benefit it's 512Mb mem greatly in the new upcoming games...
"Poke around the web recently and you'll get sniffs of X8-series Crossfire not doing anything over 60Hz at 1600x1200 on analogue outputs, or higher than 1920x1200 at all, because it feeds DVI output from the slave into the compositing engine on the master. That's pretty much correct...
Interesting quote from Richard Huddy's latest interview:
"Interesting I've seen David Kirk from NVIDIA saying that in his view some of our new features are years away, so I guess the new hardware could make a bit of a stir. Our focus is always on usable features which run at full speed, so...
Some very hard rumours are saying that the FP16 blending performance (Farcry 1.3 openexr HDR) is more or less "broken" on the Nv40 AGP cards. This was first seen in Xbitlabs FC HDR benchmarks, in some cases the cheaper 6600GT PCI-E card outperforms his bigger brothers!
More Xbit HDR...
There is HDR in the demo (with my X800) if you edit the system config file:
r_HDRLevel = "1.000000"
r_HDRRendering = "1"
(Default =
r_HDRLevel = "3.000000" (this is too bright)
r_HDRRendering = "0")
If you hit the tab bar in the demo you can look around, zooming in/out etc. You see...
