Sorry for digging up an old thread, but WMC and protected content appears to be fixed for 16.6.1. I've tried various other versions prior without success, but this one worked. All is well again.

I have about 8 SSDs, and am 0-2 on refurbs failing - one a Corsair Nova from MC (lasted a little over a yr) and a Crucial M4 (lasted a little over 2 yrs). The others, bought new, are all still fine.

I believe WMC is the only one that supports protected content. Also, I tried 16.4.1 on my Win 7 drive on the same PC and it broke the DLNA chain too. So it's breaking WMC regardless of the Windows version for me. 16.2.1 works for both Win 7 and Win 10.
