I have this keyboard. Ordered it because it was cheap and had "blue" switches.
Came to find out (didn't read/research enough) that these aren't Cherry Blues, they're something else. So they're not quite as clicky as Blues. Not exactly thrilled with that but it is what it is.
No problems...
The "tall" heatsink, as seen in the photos, occupies space that could accommodate a second HDD cage. Instead, I put the second cage on the floor of the case, which then blocks the (unneeded, in my case) PCI-E slot.
So, if your question is "can I fit a tall HSF, two HDDs, and a video card in...
No LP or VLP DDR4 sticks listed at the site you posted.
I have their VLP DDR3 in another system and it's great, but I haven't seen them release any (V)LP DDR4 yet.
That's the motherboard I'm using but I'm not aware of any low-profile DDR4 available yet.
Using the Noctua NH-U9S my standard height DDR4 fits with plenty of clearance.
Quick update:
I wasn't happy with the noise of the server so I ordered a Noctua NF-A9 92mm PWM Fan for the intake at the bottom. Being a PWM fan, it also allowed me to use the custom fan control profiles in the ASRock mobo's BIOS.
After installation, I found that it wasn't the fan...
It's been four months but MicroCenter finally had my CPU and mobo in at the same time so that I could take advantage of their combo discounts. Was tough waiting, but I finally completed the build this weekend, and it worked exactly as you said it would.
Case: NCASE M1 V4 (of course!)
PSU...
I'm leaning toward the ASRock board, but given the confusing litany of posts on this issue, I hope you don't mind if I ask for simple clarification/summation.
I'm building a server (NCASE M1 V4) and don't plan to use the PCI-E slot at all, but having access to the full SATA array is...
I'm pretty much building my home server with this board (whenever it comes out). 6 SATA devices. ;)
FWIW, ASRock finally posted the BIOS to their website downloads, so I'm assuming the board is final and shipping. Totally making that up that correlation though. Hopefully the two are linked.
Dear Microcenter,
Please get the ASRock Gaming ITX/ac board in-stock and the 6700K so that you can have my money.
<throws money at monitor>
Take my money!
I'm liking the H.265 support and all the goodies Z170 motherboards are coming with.
While it might not be compelling to upgrade from Haswell, I'm glad I waited.
The ASRock board has 4xSATA and 1xSATA express. That SATA express port can be used for 2 individual drives, effectively bringing the SATA port count up to 6, correct?
I can't vouch for the quality of the burner, but I went with this one since it was recommended on the Google Sheets comments for this case. Buying the kit that I linked gives you the slim-SATA to regular-SATA connector cable which you would have to buy separately otherwise.
That's awesome. For some strange reason (likely because I'm slow) I never considered two on the bracket and two on the floor. That will work perfectly!
Appreciate the super-detailed feedback. With drawings.
You have designed and engineered a truly beautiful and efficient mITX case...
Long-time lurker, first-time buyer. Looking-forward to my V4!
I'm going to use mine as a server. If I'm installing 4x3.5" HDDs, is the only option to mount on the side bracket (I ordered the extra tray)?
Can one mount 4 3.5" HDDs on the bottom of the case if no card is being used in the...
I have had a 60GB OCZ Vertex for a couple of months now and LOVE IT. One of the best upgrades I have done in a while. Win7 boots pretty fast and overall the system seems very snappy. I don't buy hardware for benchmarks but going from a Raptor 150 to the Vertex was a very very noticeable...
Actually I'm on an old 965P-S3. :) 2x2GB and 2x1GB. I've seen the Ramdisk solution before but I was just wondering if you could just tell your brower to use RAM instead? It just seems like a more elegant solution, if available.
Vertex user. I'm trying to reduce the number of random writes to my drive.
As such I have shut off the Vista64 page file (I have 6GB RAM). Is that a disaster waiting to happen? I have never seen my PC use even 3GB of the RAM I have.
Also, is there a way to force IE7 to use RAM to...
I really enjoyed that article too. I actually thought of [H] while reading it -- "hey look -- Anand is concerned with what the real-world benefits are and not just what benches well!".
I have a Vertex 60GB and have to say his summary is spot-on. I don't have one of the Intel drives to...
I was pretty excited about grabbing an SSD to play with but based on the comments of the OP, Blindside here, as well as many others I have decided to take a pass.
If anything, I figured that multitasking would be better with an SSD (due to the fast seek times) but apparently it's worse...
They're supposed to be out around now. $4/gb is still crazy expensive but I'm stupid enough to want one. A few places have them listed for preorder but nobody I can find has them in-stock.
Just following-up.
Coincidences suck.
It looks like I just have a bad HDD. Which just happened to teeter and then fail immediately after I installed my GTX 260, making me think it was a power issue. >.<
I used SeaTools to test the HDD, and it was riddled with errors. I had all the...
Well I tried things like keeping the HDD from spinning down and changing the power connector, but no luck. I guess the next step is a new PSU. Which sucks, because I really thought the Corsair 520W would be able to handle it. :(
