guy's... been trying my sapphire in a friends system ( i'm still assembling my water loop ) ... The cards were able to go as high as 960Mhz without any voltage increase ... Not bad for a "crippled" pcb huh? :)

Well... the bios switch is a extra that some vendors may loose in order to get lower prices on the cards... i really don't care about dual bios :) Btw, i've been checking and the new ti digital mosfets have a max temp of 150ºC what's great...

What card did you have before those 2 ... was it a clean install or not?

1 minute research would show you this Only 1 connection for SLi ... so no way you could even think going more than 2 cards in a system ... even if the mobo/architecture allowerd ... that it doesn't ... as others said ... max is 4 gpu's :)

... but ... just one question for all of you ... why are you being so "extreme" with the idea that " this pcb sucks" ? Is it because it's missing the dual bios and 1 missing inductor? Or are you saying that it's a worst performer?! I really don't get it ...

Not only XFX ... Sapphire didn't include the dual bios either...

Heres a pic of the powercolor PCS+ with the same PCB but with dual bios ... although it does not have those extra 2 phases in the rear of the card... See image here Btw, people see a missing inductor and automatically say it's worst ... but we should understand this PCB better... still can't...

So, i removed the cooler of my new sapphire's ... The PCB rev 2 has less phases than the rev 1 ... although this Sapphire has 2 smaller inductors in the rear of the card ... And away goes the dual bios

a) low 1.40's it's one thing ... high 1.40's it's another ;) b) The SB is a recent chip, so if you were already suffering from degradation at this point... that it would be worst than i thought ;) Well i had a chip that had a lifespan before degrading ... of 2 days :) Benching on LN2 of course...

Be aware that SB are not that forgiving as the X58 in terms of over-voltage. I have a friend that runs 5.0Ghz daily, but he got a really amazing batch that can do it at a very low voltage. If you are runing 1.467v for daily use... maybe you should back down a little... The VID of the SB is...

Well, i don't know if Sapphire did something to the cards i got or not ( redesigned vrm vs the rev 1.1 ) ... but the ones i got, with the new revised PCB can clock to 950Mhz with no voltage tweaking ... so ... i think the vrm is doing a good job there...

Sapphire has a new blue pcb 6970 that's also the new rev ... as for a weaker vrm ... i really don't know and you can't make that judgement based on 7 vs 8 phase design ... You need to understand which components are being used. IIRC, when the news talked about this new sapphire 6970, they...

I would not upgrade atm... I did sell my GTX295 to upgrade to the GTX590 but ... was a real frustration ... GTX295 it´s a GREAT card ... so, if you still have enough performance, stick with it... i miss my 295 and i hoped i never sold it .... :x

I had a 590 and returned it ... went with Sapphire 6970 CF ... great performance ... and 11.4 drivers are really amazing ... i mean ... correction ... are really good, since i don't know how the drivers were before since i always had nvidia :P But at least, no problems what so ever with them ...

Just one question guys... are there any changes in the 6970 PCB that i should be aware? I'm buying the waterblocks, EK has 2 of them, v1 and v2 ... v2 are for non-reference designs... but since i'm buying the sapphire ( on the image ) and i can't find info about that no where...

It's not only about "handle the 110c" KicktheCan ... It's abut handle 110ºc without decreasing wattage efficiency! Some vrms can deliver 40W at 60º but at 110 can only handle 10 of heat dissipation ... :x

I'm going to the 6970 CF config with water blocks. I had a POV GTX590 for testing during today ( for testing ... as ... i bought it ) ... but after random freezes and shutdowns from nowhere ... just by benching and testing... i decided to box everything again and just return it and get the 6970...

... hmmm remember to remove your old drivers before installing new ones ... these drivers are the worst launch of drivers i ever saw ... they send 1 to correct another, to correct another ... so after installing so many drivers you can end having some conflicting files ... Those 900mv are hard...

The games you say will not run much faster on a sandy ... Damn, even with 580 Sli the Metro doesn't perform well ... and as far as my opinion concerns, i think Metro is a useless game to measure performance. Crysis 2 is full of bugs and SLi/CF get idiotic frame rates due to poor support for SLI...
