Well, I stopped by BB yesterday on my way home and they had taken down the demo.
It was a Linksys home networking demo and was setup for the Xmas sales showing off Linksys products... When I happened apon the demo it was streaming music from the internet.
I don't belive they actually...
I was wandering around Best Buy today looking to spend some gift certs and they had a big Linksys demo setup. 2 P4 3.somethings connected to the internet. You couldn't do much in IE but I had my pen drive with me....
Installed as a service on both, running 24/7 I assume... Wonder how long it...
Makes a huge differance. More than triples the WU time when you have a screen saver actice, especially if its something like the OpenGL demo screensaver..
Disables the screensaver on the logon screen. The screen saver of the user currently logged in stays the same.
You could add the key to turn off the monitor after xx minutes hiding the fact that the screen saver isn't running at the logon screen though.
Also might want to add something like..
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"ScreenSaveActive"="0"
I'm not sure if thats the right nomeclature, but its close.
Can anyone correct me?
/loads up pen drive for some drive-by...
I b0rged a few machines today, but most of the time they sit @ the login screen. After 10 minutes the default windows screen saver kicks in... anyway to disable this?
Also, if the power setting are configed to shut the monitor off after xx minutes, does the computer stop running the screen...
As far as borging goes, Do I need to download a fresh copy of the install program for every machine, or would a current version on a USB drive work the same?
Been lurking for years, decieded is was time to give a little back.
P4 1.6 @ 2.1 -Main rig (hopefully 24/7)
Pentium M 1.4 -Laptop (work lappy, as much time as possible)
Celery 1.1 -Donated machine, 24/7 (might become media server though)
Mobile Celeron 1.2 -Wifes laptop, borged, no idea on...
