How small is text without scaling on these panels? I'm considering a pair that would mostly be used for development. I currently have a pair of 23" 1080p and 24" 1920x1200 screens.
I don't have room for dual 27" screens on my desks and I'm worried that I wouldn't be gaining much real estate...
Would you create 11 different, randomly allocated directories (because attempting to name the single-drive subdirectories by name, genre, date, etc would be a fool's errand) if you had an infinitely large disk? Of course not.
I realize you can create symlinks, but still unless you want your...
Does that include lossless audio? I'd think a lot of people going to to the trouble of building large storage arrays for movies probably aren't listening through TV speakers or cheap HTIBs.
So assuming 13 2TB drives, would snap raid support dual disk parity while exporting a single volume instead of 11-13? That's the PITA I'm referring to.
It stores basically all of my data: media (music, movies, & pictures), other machine backups, VMs, development work, documents, etc. Capacity wise, movies dominate since it stores rips of my entire blu-ray collection.
Only for portions of the server. Things like blu-rays are not backed up...
I've been using 3-Ware cards for my home file servers since the dawn of time. My current server is running a 9550SXU-12 (PCI-X) with 12 2TB drives in RAID 5. I've had this card for a couple of years and have been slowly adding new drives as it filled up, taking advantage of online capacity...
Anyone have issues with the drive indicator lights on the 4224? I I have about 8 pairs that don't light up when drives are connected. Even though the LEDs don't light up, the drives still work.
Has anyone attempted to repair them? I'm well outside of my return period and don't want to buy...
I realize this thread is ancient, but I'm having the exact same problem using the C-Media reference drivers for windows 7 released in February of this year. Any ideas? I'm using this in a car, so the SPDIF output isn't an option.
I'm looking to pick up either 4 or 8 sticks of PC3200 ECC for an old socket 940 server. I'm only interested in single stick capacities >= 1GB. I really only need 4 sticks, but if the price is right, I would consider picking up 8.
I'm in the midst of setting up a distributed A/V system throughout my house. I am matrix'ing several HDMI sources, including my computer, to several different rooms in my house. I need to ensure that my computer is passing an audio stream over its HDMI output so I can decode it through my...
I'm going to update the wiring in my bedrooms and my family room, and would like to make things as future proof as possible.
I will have an A/V & networking closet set up that will feed all of the rooms. What I'm thinking about is wiring each room with 4 drops of Category 6, 2 drops of RG6, and...
I am selling items from two different locations. Items from location B will ship from my parents house and I cannot combine shipping from items shipped from two different locations. Minimum order is from location A is $5 (no minimum from location B). Actual shipping charges will be calculated...
You didn't say whether or not you wanted a newer game, but here are some suggestions if you don't mind old school gaming:
Dark Sun: Shattered Lands (My all-time favorite)
Dark Sun: Wake of the Ravager
Ravenloft: Strahd's Possesion
Menzoberranzan
I don't know anything about video processing, but if it is memory intensive or you run other things at the same time, the extra memory could reduce paging. It's not difficult to consume 1GB of memory in XP.
The only time you would need to install "hard drive" drivers before Windows is if you were installing on a RAID that the installation CD doesn't detect.
We had a similar problem at work with our test stations that had two 24" widescreens. The application suite used opened up a zillion windows and it was very easy to lose the mouse icon. Eventually somebody changed it so the mouse icon would grow about 5 times larger when it was hovering over...
Yeah, definitely get a name-brand PSU. If you monitor deal forums, you can sometimes get an Antec case with an Earthwatts PSU for the same price as the PSU itself (basically a free case).
