Well, this is about enough to drive me nuts. I'm watching Wireshark and the device is making DHCP requests to which my DHCP server is responding with an offer. However the SAN never seems to accept it. It continues making request after request. DHCP works for all other devices on my network...
I have a new to me CX3-20 SAN that I would like to configure and start playing around with. This was pulled from an old data center and is still configured as it was there. I know I need to get access to the SP's but I'm not even sure where to start. There is a Ethernet Port and what appears...
Racked the rest of the SAN and the other blade chassis.
Still need to get an electrician over here. I keep going back to wanting to build a dedicated data center so I don't have to listen to all the gear. Kind of like what I used to have.
I picked this up a few months ago and am now getting around setting it up. I believe the model is CX3-20 but I'll have to double check that. I need help with the connections. The drive chassis has copper fiber channel connections while the storage processors have fiber connections. How does...
I'll agree with everyone else. Running a 3 million $ studio on hobby / do it yourself network and equipment is a horrible idea doomed for failure. If you have that kind of money to dump on a studio why would you even consider it?
KTA325B. I bought the mount and then made my own pole with floor flange and threaded steel pipe. Drilled a hole in the center of the flange so that the cables would run down through it.
Excuse the cables hanging everywhere. The Wife and kids are out of town so I have a bit of extra free time to play.
Put a ceiling mounted monitor up, thought I would share.
I just remind the Wife that we have what we have because I play with this stuff and constantly increase my skill level.
Seems to be working out; she bought this for me for Fathers Day :)
Yes, sorry, I have made a bit of progress. Finally swapped the silver rack for a black one and I think it looks a whole lot better. I will work on getting pics up tonight.
I would move the sides of the case so that they but up against the front and back of the case. This would hide those edges and give you a cleaner front panel.
25" is the max I believe. The stand is home made using 1.5" galvanized steel pipe and a floor flange. The arm itself is a Chief KTA325B.
Latest setup of 2 Jerker tables.
Changed up my room a bit.
Left 3 monitors: Work W7 Machine
Middle monitor: Mac Mini
Right 3 monitors: Personal W7 / Linux Box
The servers and network gear
Ran some ladder rack across the room
I have a ton of ethernet cable that I need to run. Hopefully...
I have two servers (1 dual quad core xeons, 1 dual 6 core xeons) running full time. Does that count ;) Once I get 220 run to the rack I will put my 80 core blade chassis up. That should be fun.
