At least when I tested I showed both products instead of stacking the vote where you could only vote us down... And I will not be making any changes to that article. I like what it says and I stand behind it.

I will not be publishing "gaming" benchmarks for CPU coverage by lowering the resolution to levels that it does not reflect gameplay. Gaming benchmarks are broken. Deal with it. Running gaming benchmarks at low resolutions is no better than a synthetic test like 3DMark. Yeah I got a higher score, this system is faster....in these benchmarks at least. That does not mean dick in the real world, but if you are just in teh business of stroking your ePenis it works out fine.

We showed what happens if you have a fairly power AMD and Intel CPU and a good video card. This article applies directly to a HUGE group of our readers and the fact is that rushing out an upgrading to a Conroe system unless you have a SLI it is like you will see no gaming differences unless you were already CPU limited and that is likely not the issue as most games now days are GPU limited. Using "gaming benchmarks" for CPU testing is broken in its current state. What worked a decade ago, does not work now to show anything applicable to gaming performance as it once did. It does not work any more to reflect any sort of real world benefits. That is a fact, so why should we do it? We showed plenty of benchmarks that showed off the power of Conroe, in real world applications. But sadly gaming is not one of them and I am not going to show gaming benchamrks that way any more. If I do I am lying to my readers.

Intel has been saying for months just how much Conroe kicked ass in gaming. All of that crowing made me really wonder if the results we were seeing were applicable in the real world and we proved that currently they are not for most users.

I will say this, you have inspired me to write an editorial about this as it seems that many folks need to be shown a new light in this arena. I have a lot more to say on this and I should not hide it from view in a buried forum post.
