OCZ PC3200 Memory has errors !!!

I just purchased a new computer from this deal SR1710NX, this computer (SPEC's) only came with 256MB PC2700, so I had to get an upgrade...

I just purchased and installed OCZ Value Series 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory from NewEgg (thanks to THIS DEAL), and I am currently running Memtest-86 v3.2 on the newly installed memory, and it has found errors !!!

Here is what it reads:
Quote:
WallTime = 3:53:00
Cached = 959M
RsvdMem = 276M
MemMap = e820-std
Cache = on
ECC = off
Test = std
Pass = 12
Errors = 193
ECC Errs = 0
.
.(Error Report)
.
Tst=4
Pass=2
Failing Address=0001029ca80- 258.7MB
Good=fd748c80
Bad=dd748c80
Err-Bits=200000
Count=193
Chan=1
I've run Memtest plent-o times and have yet to get any errors, so know I don't know what to do :-(
I know the SR1710NX has shared memory with the on-board video card, could this have something to do with it?

I would simply call up NewEgg and RMA the chips but the problem is I already sent in the UPC to get the $20 Mail-In-Rebate :-(
Will NewEgg let me RMA w/out the UPC ?

What should I do, how can I make sence of the output from memtest?
Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
-BassKozz

p.s. I am not overclocking this at all, it is running stock.
p.s.s. Should I try running MemTest+86 ? Is that better then MemTest-86 ?

which slots did you put the ram in? i'm assuming you took the 256mb stick out? do you have any options for timings or voltage?

I put the chips in slots 1&2 and it's running in Dual Channel Mode (checked it out using CPU-Z)...
There are NO options for timings or voltage in the BIOS... the BIOS is dumbed down ALOT, and most of the features are "shadowed" because it came built OEM Compaq, and they don't want there end-users OC'ing

UPDATE!!!

I called NewEgg and because of their grreat Cust-Service, they allowed me to RMA, but before I do...

I stopped MemTest-86, shutdown the computer, and re-ran MemTest-86 again, for 3+hrs, and this time NO ERRORS.

So should I send the chips back or was error a fluke?

Will do.... I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the help...
BTW, your thoughts on Memtest-86 vs. Memtest86+? or is there something even better to use?

it's a decent program, and is good at detecting faulty memory. you can also use prime95 in blend test or windows memtest

Another UPDATE
Ran Memtest-86 2 more times for 3+ hrs each, and it found errors both times, so in total I've ran Memtest 4 times and it's found the same error 3 times.

The sticks are on there way back to the Egg.
Thanks for your help.

I found out what the problem is:
Long story short...

I found out that it's not the voltage thats causing my problems but the SPD settings on the memory chips are too fast and the bios settings are set too slow so Memtest shows errors.

I need to be-able to adjust the BIOS settings to change the CAS setting from 3 to 2.5 to match the chips I am using. But because the bios is locked down, I can't
Suggestions?
