Where is the X-FI Volume control panel?
Hi,
installed the latest X-Fi driver for XP and Vista and i couldn´t find the volume control panel!!!! Already searched in creative folder in start menu » programs. Do i have to install the volume control panel from the original CD? but I am a little afraid because after doing that in XP I couldn´t pass the logon screen, i got the infamous c000021a error, althoug i installed also other applications before this error, and because i saw once one X-FI web driver upgrade that said that the applications in the CD didn´t work with the web upgrade. I need the volume control panel to enable the spdif out to my external decoder! Help

I think you need to install the Console Launcher, or something, from the CD. And it does work, at least it does with me, with the latest X-Fi drivers.

if u unzip the driver package- there is an app for x-fi controls somewhere in there- its very basic- not as good as the cd apps but it works

Thaaanks a lot all you guys, especially Cat1yst!
The YouP PAX Software Suite 2007 applications on vista seem real sweet! Creative is very bad with drivers, they take long time to make new drivers and still they don´t resolve important problems like the crackling sounds, I wonder how it would be if they had competition in the EAX sector. That is the problem!! Bastards! I had one Audigy 2 that at one time couldn´t accept any applications or updated drivers, only the drivers of the original CD (but not the applications), I went to creative forums and found lot of people with the same problem after the warrantee expired. Now I have to buy a new one. Actually I remember a company called Auzentech witch will have soon the world's first soundcard custom-engineered around the X-Fi chipset, let´s see what they would do with the drivers; http://www.auzentech.com/site/products/x-fi_prelude.php. If the sound and drivers support will be better I probably buy one in the long future, because for now the Audigy 2 is the best!! and I have an X-FI Fatality.

If you google or check Creative's forums, you'll find a link to Creative's official CD for Vista. I was using Youp-pax before in Vista as well, but if you want official Vista apps, just download the new CD. People have posted ISOs on various sites and on Bittorrrent.
