Hackers Hit Comcast
Hackers have hit Comcast, defacing their website and WHOIS records. Unfortunately, as with all hack attacks, this will simply garner sympathy for Comcast and take the spotlight off their shady practices.

Im not gonna lie. If comcast was fast, cheap, and worked I would have it.
It is the fastest in my area its NOT the cheapest and it doesnt work Every since they bought out roadrunner my service was down atleast 1 week a month. About 4 months of that and I was ready to kill. Now I have a crappy 3meg DSL line but atleast it friggen works! Piss on comcast, may they burn in bankruptcy hell one day.

Unlikely to happen ^. This is funny, although Comcast is actually superb in my area (half the state) and that's not because the other competition is sub-par either. I don't deny that they have issues across the nation though, it's just not "everywhere" as some say
. As long as my service stays good and intact... it's all I care about lol.

Sympathy for Comcast? Not. Sympathy for the poor hackers that had their hard work undone.
Go hackers, go away Comcast. Now, what I really want to see hackers to is to hack into the computers of scum sucking SPAM senders and phishers, put in a nice screen sharing program/back door, and say here you go FBI: here are some bad guys, go get 'em. I'm so sick of "add . com" SPAM emails because dome SPAM filters can't filter "[B]. com[B]" because they ignore punctuation, and goolgle also - irritating that putting something in " " quotes doesn't search for EXACTLY that string. Grr....

Damnit! Why can Verizon's FioS be available in my area so I can switch from this crappy provider!
I'm tired of these random slow speeds, email/surfing watching, and their outrageous price hikes!

aww, I feel so bad for Comcast .... NOT
When they took over from Roadrunner I was a very sad panda, RR was SO much better in every way - and a little cheaper. But since the government decided somehow that only having 1 choice for cable didn't constitute a monopoly, we're pretty much stuck with whatever company is in our area. I wondered what the heck was going on late last night ... my homepage was showing a like "under construction" image and that work was being done. Didn't see anything different when I got online a little while ago. Their news box - the one that usually rotates between like 4 categories? that's not working yet. The biggest thing to me is, ok fine, somebody proved they could hack Comcast (can't almost anything be hacked these days?) ... but does Comcast know/have they looked/would they know how and where to look to see if whoever did this planted a backdoor? Personally, as long as my own "stuff" (passwords, etc. - which I don't store anyway) is safe now and in the future, I could give a rat's ass what some kids do to annoy Comcast. They've brought it on themselves. Being throttled every single weekend starting Friday afternoon through Monday afternoon is getting really really tired. There's been times I gotta check that the modem's on ... I feel like I'm back on dialup its so slow. And no, I don't use torrents, I do some streaming to watch a tv show I might have missed and I do a few hours of online dj'ing. Heavy user I'm not. No FIOS here, probably won't be. And Verizon, the only real DSL provider in our area is not accepting new customers (and they sucked out loud when I had them).

I gotta tell ya, although im sure verizon fios is better than comcast.. verizon is by no means any more reliable.
When i had their DSL (im in central NJ) not only was it only around 650 kbps of actual throughput, it was constantly going down. I remember the day it went down for 3 days as if it were tomorrow, and this is when their dsl was 49.99 a month too. Now i think theyre dsl runs around 14.95 in my area and i still wouldnt even take it. My OOL is a little more than 12x faster in actual throughput than my dsl was, and i havent had a single issue with downtime or lag! Everytime im downloading and i see my download speed break 1.6 MB/s i smile. I think im going to try OOL BOOST next month to, doubles the speed for an extra 10$ a mo.... 30 mbps D x 3 (or 5?) up! I feel you pain though brother. It should be illegal have such poor services. Gotta love that "service not guaranteed" disclaimer at the bottom of their commercials LMAO.

There's a topic on dslreports that's now 23 pages long - there's supposedly a Comcast tech person who's saying all customers are safe. There's alot of people who DON'T believe him - and I'm one of them.
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r205...Comcast-hacked noct3rn4l, I briefly had verizon DSL and it was really really awful. And we're about 5 blocks from the substation. The up/down was insanely slow, service went out more than it didn't and their only answer was "reset the modem" no matter what you called in for. Drove me completely insane, then tried to make it impossible for me to cancel the service. If you're talking about Comcast's "Boost" ... that's not an across the board, will always be that fast - it's an initial boost, then it slows down to "normal". The damned "up to" language cheeses me off, as does the "service not guaranteed" ... what the heck are we paying for?
