Maytag Crosses Popular Blogger, Gets Spun Dry
Is your new high-dollar appliance broke? Can’t get the company to fix it? Obviously you should tweet about the experience and companies will come running to your aid. Well, if you have a million plus followers on Twitter that is.

I'm glad She got Her problem fixed, Its too bad Ford didn't do anything to fix the 2006 Mustang GT I had spent some real cash on back in 2007(parked in cold winter air under a car port, repeatedly resulted in a dead battery that either could be jumped or would have to be towed in to the local dealer, I don't drive too much as I mostly drive twice a week to the Post Office and back), Now I couldn't buy one of their new cars even If I wanted too and I'm not sure I would(Not without a 200A alternator and either a 750cca battery or a 1000cca battery), A used previous GT(2001-2004), Sure, If I can get financing.

It was a relay involving the feature where the power stayed on until you opened the door. Yours was a VERY common problem- shame they didn't come clean on them., ![]()

Fuck that. I can't get my TV fixed because I don't know a lot of people on twitter, but if you have a big twitter friends list and a ton of followers, the world is your because your complaints fall on a select number of ears.

The Maytag repairman sure is busy nowadays. Years ago he used to wait around all day for something to do.

I think its rather sad that you have to make a big fuss, just to get something repaired nowadays. Heck I had a bad experience at Bestbuy, and the only reason they did anything to fix the situation was because I filled a complaint with the better business bureau, and went on some local customer satisfaction sites to complain. When I made my initial complaint the manager at the store was completely indifferent, after I did something about the lack of service, he was tripping over himself to solve my problem.

, Still the local Ford dealer said the problem was fixed for 2007, But they wouldn't say what the fix was, Probably afraid of being sued, Or maybe Ford never told them. ![]()

I'm sure they know. Those dealers are sketchy as hell. Plastic knob to control 4WD broke off my roommates dash and they wanted to charge him $80 + installation for it. Honda charged $5 for something like that with my Accord. Also, the slave cylinder in his transmission needed replacement due to a design defect in the '03 Ranger. They quoted him $1300 to replace it. My (honest) mechanic did it for $700. I'd never buy a Ford truck. I doubt they'd give a crap about their customers even if they tweeted to high hell and back.

Consumerist.com
Yeah - before Tweets there was http://consumerist.com/
If your well-written complaint ever made it to the front page of Consumerist, the heavens parted and company reps came out of the woodwork to fix your problem post-haste. Seriously good stuff to know about.

someone needs to set up a system where you can "borrow" millions of followers just for problems with companies.

She'd have done more good telling them to stuff their fix then blog about how they only offered to help her because she was raising a public fuss and still told people to not buy their crap. That might have actually got something stirred up and got problems addressed. If you piss a celeb off and "fix" it publicly then they at least save some face and the idiot celeb ussually praises them for it but the average bloke still gets fucked the same way. If the celeb refuses the condecending fix then the company has to figure out how to not piss off the next celeb and is forced to treat everybody better.
