When do the special Samsung-Eyefinity displays come out ?
I bought a 5870 tonight, and plan to run a triple screen gaming setup with it in the future, but I don't want to run out right now and blow money on outdated monitors, or spend a million bucks on the fancy NEC models.
I have heard lots of talk about Samsung working directly with AMD on special "Eyefinity" packages of new generation monitors. Any idea of a release date, like next month or not until Christmas ? This post here on Raged 3d is interesting; http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33952986 I know a couple of sites will do updates with Eyefinity performance. Clearly, games running very fast, run well on Eyefinity -- L4F at 25MPixels is very smooth, for example. Dirt2 was as well. AA is also somewhat less important, since there is so much more screen real-estate now. As for monitors, we've partnered up with Samsung, and they will be introducing "small" bezel monitors shortly, available in kits for Eyefinity. Here is a very good video review of "Eyefinity" with detailed explanation; http://www.pcper.com/article.php?aid...e=expert&pid=6

Won't the 3x displays simply kill the graphic cards?
I have a hard time believing even the CrossFired 5870 could keep up with such resolution. My 30" Dell running Crysis on 285 GTX SLI at 2560x1600 averages 30-35 FPS (Very High, no AA/AF)

Personally, I plan to run three 30" DELL or six of the new Samsung displays with a 5870X2.

2x285GTX are almost a match for 2x5870 (only a fe frames difference)
http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,6...eviews/?page=4 Click the 2560x1600 resolution test Get ready for a big disappointment. Unless you enjoy gaming at 3 FPS

This is one of the reasons I am swapping out my 22" lcd for a single 25.5". I know my system can breeze through 1920x1200, but 5040x1050 or 5760x1080 just sounds brutal for any card right now.

Here says december:
http://www.brightsideofnews.com/news...echnology.aspx I hope they launch the stand apart from the rest, for me 3 would suffice, and their individual price is on par with their own 22", 23" monitors.
