Is Swiftech's customer service always this bad?
I'm planning to do a watercooled rig based on a Corsair 800D case, ASUS P6TD motherboard, overclocked i7 920, 6 GB Corsair Dominator RAM, etc. I have read a lot of good things about Swiftech, so I figured I should check them out. But I not about to buy anything from anyone without going through some questions, so I can do comparisons with other vendors and products.
So, last Sunday I signed up on the Swiftech forums. I know my way around forums, so when I didn't get the confirmation email, the next day, I just sent a message to support@swiftech.com. Silence. So yesterday morning, 8 am CA time, I called and got a very nice lady on the phone. She told me to send her an email, and then about 15 minutes later, I got a message back from her saying that she had forwarded my message on. Very good. It's now almost closing time in CA, two days later, and still SILENCE. ![]() Is this typical for Swiftech support? Do they DESERVE my business???Whatever you can say about watercooling, it ain't cheap. And for a complete watercooling n00b like me, I need to do a lot of research so I don't waste my money and still get a system that is both cool and quiet. ![]() So, what do all you guys think I should do? Give Swiftech another chance, or write them off?

Customer Service =/= activating an account to their forum which no one uses.
And that's a great way to compare products.. registering on a swiftech forum where you'll get nothing but unbiased opinions.... Why don't you make a thread here with the questions you want to ask.

What sorts of questions did you ask? Are the majority of them answered in a 15 second google search?

Bashing Swiftech products because you couldn't register on their forums for two days is ridiculous. There's nothing there that isn't available elsewhere. Also, just for reference, XS took a couple days to sign up on as well. It really isn't a big deal.

That was, however, an unnessecary wall of text... this is [H]... unless if something is truely borked (like the PCB was shredded), then someone here has the expertise to repair it...

Apparently not, I bet the site is run by a contractor/non-employee
I thought this was good customer service: http://www.hardforum.com/showpost.ph...62&postcount=5

If there are multiple products that are all about the same in performance or price, then just how do you choose?

The shiniest one. Really, one can get a little too hung up on "what is the best" when it is completely possible to build a system that performs as good or better than anything you can buy with some automotive heater cores, aquarium pump and a decent block. Unless you screw it up horribly just about anything will work fine and provide good results. The rest is just fodder for nitpicking Internet forum discussions.
Plan your installation, make sure the rad is fed the coolest ambient air consistant with the mounting limitiations/goals, buy good quality stuff, clean and assemble it with care, leak test and you cannot go wrong.

It's possible they sent you an email but it got lost somewhere. Some email providers seem to block forum registrations. I have no idea why, but I've had accounts where I could not get confirmation from certain forums, not even in the spam.
Swiftech's founder, Gabe Rouchon, posts frequently on Xtremesystems. You could try asking there. http://www.xtremesystems.org/

From my dealings with both Gabe and Michelle I have never had any issues with Swiftech's customer support.

i lost faith in this so called costumer support crap several years ago..... i just research it until those pesky questions are all answered.... and then proceed to implement my own solution.....

Swiftech's customer support is awesome IMO. I emailed to asked where I could get some of those plastic pins that are used to hold together their dual rad sandwich. They sent me some immediately for free!
Swiftech rocks!
