Extracting from a WD Elements Portable Hard Drive

hi

I live in Thailand where WD drives are made. The only 2.5" 640 GB drive available is the Elements Portable 640GB external drive, there is no sign of the internal drive yet.

Do you think it would be possible the extract the disk from the case and use it in my laptop? Or should I just wait for the internal drive to be released?

Yep, should be no problem except it will probably void the warranty.

Just be sure that your current laptop drive is a SATA unit.
