Luxeon Rebel Maglites - $10.97 - $14.97 Lowes Online and B&M

These are a great deal on some very decent flashlights:

http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?actio...tt=led+maglite

The 3D and 2AA minimag are great deals in particular. With the 2AA minimag, I'd stay away from the one on the website and go to the B&M store to make sure you get the "multimode" one - this one is much brighter and a better light than the older one.

Only lasts through the 30th so hurry.

Picked up a 2AA. Brought it home and saw that it put my first gen 2D MagLED to shame, went back and picked up a 2D version, too.

Wanted to really bite but I found that Costco sells a two pack with a 3d and 2aa LED for only $30, best part? Comes with batteries too!

Scored a 2AA and a 3D LED from Lowe's on Black Friday. They are GREAT prices, and I love Maglites so much (I already had a 2AA and a 3D, I just like them so much I bought MORE).

Very good deal on a very good product. In my opinion, to get a better light than a Maglite, you're going to have to go to Streamlight or Surefire level, which is 2 or 3x the cost.

These make an awesome complement to my Lowes Taskforce 3w 2C Cree LED. I got a 2AA for my car, a 3D for next to my bed, a 2AA for my computer room, and the taskforce as a general usage light.

That's a great deal on the Maglite 3D. For a LED flashlight from a reputable brand, that's a hard to beat price.

I am looking at these flashlights and I am trying to figure which one I should get. The 3 cell D or the 2 cell D? Same thing applies for the AA. Also, D vs AA?

This flashlight will mainly be in my room, mainly used to look at dark corners where not enough light gets through and to look in my PC's guts.

according to the Lowes website, the 2AA and 3AA versions come with batteries. The 2D doesn't.

If they still have it in stock, the 3D over the 2D. Hell, buy a 3D and a 2AA; combined it's still cheaper than the regular price for a 2D maglite.

I just got one at the Lowes in Aliso Viejo, they still had plenty. What is meant by the word "Rebel" maglite though?

edit: got the 3D and it did not come with batteries

Rebel is a newer Luxeon brand LED - now there is far more to a light than just the type of LED, but the point is that this isn't just some bargain bin LED flashlight (Cree and Luxeon are among the best manufacturers of LED's out there). It's damn good stock for the price, and if you upgrade the reflector and other parts, it can be damn good period.

Thanks OP. I stopped by Lowes on the way home and picked up some of the newer model 2 AA models as gifts, and finally got myself a 3 D model in red.

the amazon reviews were not so hot.

for the runtimes i'd get this: http://goinggear.com/index.php?main_...roducts_id=373

i don't think these maglite runtimes were all that good. the flashlight above runs on just one AA as well. there is a slightly more expensive version at 4sevens with a XPG emitter if you want some more brightness. the itp's also weigh about 1.6 ounces compared to the almost 5 ounces of these.

yes the maglites are cheaper, but for a decent flashlight its not good to skimp .

What are the pros/cons of getting one version or the other? I'm thinking of the 3 AA vs 2 AA models. What are the benefits/disadvantages of the 3 battery model vs the 2 battery one? They are both the same price. Which would be better to get?
