PC Dragon Age Amazon for $38 FS

http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Age-Ori...9302349&sr=1-1

Pretty good deal if you're in CA and don't want Newegg's sales tax. There were no B&M BF deals for the PC version, so this is good.

*Technically* you still have to report the sales tax in Cali on your income tax form

Anyway, i got in on DA:O for $34.99 at Amazon w/free ship yesterday [i got it together with Borderlands for $19.99 (shipped)]

Technically states don't have the authority to tax purchases made in other states. At least in Michigan, they have a "use tax" though, which applies if you bring something into the state and don't pay MI sales tax on it.

It sure sounds like a way just to get around not being able to tax interstate commerce to me. I bet if someone really wanted to fight it, it could get interesting. But it's easier to just ignore it since they don't really have the resources to monitor it and/or it's not easy to prove.

Yeah, I never knew about anything like that and we've never reported Amazon sales tax...

This game is so worth buying if you have even an iota of roleplayer or tactical spirit.

Well, California is broke. i doubt they can monitor it. However, there is a line on the Cali state tax form just to report this kind of interstate purchase.
. . . now you know (what they want you to do)

Consumers who buy untaxed merchandise are also supposed to calculate and pay use taxes, but the state generally has no easy way to enforce that requirement.
And - back on topic - i am really looking forward to this game!
