Want to flash a Quadro to a GeForce

I have a Quadro FX 4500 (equiv of 7800GTX?) and an FX 3700 (equiv of an 8800GT?)

Any idea if i can flash their BIOS's to their GeForce equivalents?

This, unless you want to switch back and forth for some reason.

Also I find it funny that the higher FX number is less powerful. More funny when you consider the GeForce FX 5xxx line.

I paid nothing for them and they'll just go in some old PC's for gaming, nothing too glamorous.
I know that Quadros can be used for gaming but isn't as good as their GeForce side.

I have nothing to lose so may just do it, just need to get together some safe and relaible BIOS's and give it a go.

Then i would say to sell them. I think the FX 3700 retails for about 700 so tryit on ebay and you can get a GTX 295 and still save money.

Try installing Geforce drivers without flashing.

I have a Quadro FX 4600 (8800 GTS equivalent but with 768MB) and it can run Geforce drivers without modification for a 10%+ boost in raw gaming performance.

Selling them is the better option.

tmk, at least on the older boards, the only issue is the memory bandwidth being somewhat lower than GeForce boards

if you're just putting it into an old gaming box, who cares, leave them as Quadro FX or hardbbq's suggestion, they will game either way, so no big deal
