It's mostly procedural, so no, it won't be huge.

Yea, if they deliver on half of what was shown at GDC last year (that's the video posted, minus some of Will Wright's speech intro) Spore is going to be incredible.

Man this game seems almost never ending! From bacteria to entire galaxies filled with individual worlds you can edit....man this game is gonna be sweet. :D

looks awesome. the sheer amount of gameplay and gameplay styles is crazy. i liked the jazz music during the "procedural mating." should have had some cheesy 70s porn music too.

the only thing that would kill this game would be if they added a lot of unnecessary micromanagement just to get you to play longer. it would also be nice if you could skip the eating animations and stuff like that, instead of having to watch your creature tear apart a carcass for 15 seconds every time you kill something before you can do something else.

Are you?
Spore has been one of the most anticipated and hyped titles of the last few years. Will Wright brings his next revolution to computer gaming. What's not to like?

Eh? Nothings blowing up yet......losing interest in 5...4...3...2...1.....oh look at the blue ball!!!!!!

Lol at the Ford explorer joke! :p

Please share your opinion on why this isn't interesting to you. I don't wanna start anything, I just find this game facinating.

maybe trek didn't watch the whole video? it's long, but it's definitely worth watching all the way through. the stuff that will wright gets to through the first 5 minutes doesn't even scratch the surface of the game.

does anybody know a place to see the full video? it looked like there was more to it that got cut off.

that's got to be one of the most amazing games I've ever seen... too bad it's not out yet....

that video was absolutely amazing.

this game is gonna win alot of awards, i already predict game of the year!

Just saw the video....thats pretty slick. Is better than the usual "someone has a bomb! find it and deactivate it before it blows"

i dont know it looks like a bunch of different genres put together. It does look amazing though, im just curious how it is in the later levels when it becomes a simcity/civ game

Yup, one of the better programming i've seen. It's probably gonna kill your processor tho.

to me it looks so stupid that i thought everybody was being sarcastic. i guess its just not my cup of tea. :D

Is there a multiplayer element to this? I don't have speakers at work so I couldnt listen to anything.

I think the game looks fascinating as well - just not something I would personally enjoy after the novelty of it wore off.

This game is on my number list to get, since, I was at the Will Wright presentation/speech at the GDC 2005... he demoed all this there for the first time.. everyone, i mean everyone was SHOCKED!!! It was the talk of the GDC last year, even more so than MS giving away 1000 23" Samsung HDTV's

The sheer scale and expandability of the game is astounding. Considering all the variety and combinations from "day 1." I can't wait.

No multiplayer per se. But your species, planet whatever can be 'shared' over the internet so your species might be evolving in parallel on another planet in some one else's universe. You won't actually play against another human opponent, but over the long haul, human created content is supposed to fill your own local games. Not just on other planets and intelligent species, but other animal, plants, building ect can be imported and played with in your universe.

i thought the game sounded interesting, but after watching that video it just looks amazing.. so ambitious though I wonder when it will be released and if it will live up to the expectations. I can't wait to hear more about it. Does anyone know what the release schedule is for it?

The game looks awsome, but I cant see myself playing through it more then once.

And way too much bloom.

Fan-freaking-tastic. I am totally preordering this game, and knocking down any children who get in my way.

technically playing it once is like playing it forever because there seems to be no end, from what i have seen in the video. you just keep expanding and expanding almost forever until you run out of hard drive space. :p
