I am looking for some scores to compare mine with.

8864 3DMARK05

580/1600 on a EVGA 7900GT CO Superclocked.

Athlon 64 3500+ Stock Speed
2gb Corsair ValueSelect Memory 4x512mb
Evga NF4 SLI Board
2x80gb SATA Seagate
OKIA 450W Power Supply

Around 10k seems to be the norm (+/- 500) for an overclocked 7900GT @ roughly 580/1800. Leaving your CPU at stock speeds is REALLY hurting you.

9000 is more in line for a 7900GT or 7800GTX

10k is more in line for a 7900GTX

can i get 1800 on memory using stock heatsink/fan ?>

Memory speed is mostly a function of what ram modules / chips on the board. Cooling and extra voltage can help increase the speed. But generally ram maxes out at a certain speed period.

I doubt you'll hit that memory speed. Especially on an eVGA, they speed bin their cards for all the various speed models they sell, so most cards are nearly maxed out at their spec'd speeds.

I got 10,001 using the 84.20 drivers and my card at 560/1720. I haven't really started overclocking yet, just used the auto-detect settings.

My System:

X2 4400+ @ 2.6GHZ
A8N-SLI Premium
2GB OCZ Platinum EB RAM @ 260MHZ 3-3-3-7
150GB Raptor
eVGA 7900GT (500/1500 Default Clocks)
Antec TrueControl II 550W PSU
Antec P180

So you just barely broke 10k, with and overclocked FSB/CPU (@ FX60 speeds) & Oc'd GPU.

So I stand by my statement 9000's for 7900GT
10,000's for 7900GTX's

I suspect that the 1.1ns and 1.4ns ram chips come off the same production line, and those that dont hit 1.1ns speeds are marked as 1.4ns, so memory is very much like gpu's. seems i got lucky with my 1.4ns ram as its hitting 1.1ns speeds easily.

9000's for GT's would be wrong IMO... look at XS and most people there with an OVERCLOCKED 7900GT (as I said) are getting in the low 10k's. Obviously one would assume if you're overclocking your GPU, the rest of the system is likely overclocked as well. GTX's get much higher than just 10,000 when overclocked ;).

P.S. Even here for example:

overclocked gt's with dual core processors.

Dual core is where it's at and has been for several months... I stand by my statement that his CPU is what's causing his far lower score.

XS & even here... are the people who really tweak their system.

So their scores are going to be well above average to the extreme high end. I was saying average scores were in the 9000's. You saying 10k is the norm, will make 80+% of people out there think that there's something wrong with their system. But maybe they just have an older A64 3500 or videocard that doesn't overclock well, etc..

And as you can see 96redformula with a 3Ghz A64 is still just under 10k, and the other guy has 9,200.

Yeah, I guess I should have qualified my statement better (and looked around more). I was looking mainly at ones with highly overclocked setups, didn't look at anything stock or whatnot. I concede :).

OK :) me ftw!

People do that a lot around here. They look at a few people bragging about their scores, and then think their scores suck, when they're usually average or even already above average.

Its kinda like watching a porno and not realizing those guys/girls are paid pro's and a 14" dick & DD boobs aren't standard equipment for the average person. Those are the people that are proud of what they got & arent afraid to show it!

Or like going to the racetrack & coming back saying the standard 1/4 mile for a Mustang is 10 secs. :p

I get 9440 with my 7900gt CO @ 550:1800. My fsb is at 220 leaving my 3500+ at 2.44 ghz. The cpu really seems to be a huge deal to 3dmark, as pre-overclock to post-overclock was a large jump. I wish I could afford a dual core right now. I could probably afford a venice athlon 64 and OC it 200-400mhz faster than this one (depending on how lucky I am), but I'd still want a dual core.

I scored 13199 in 3dmark05 with evga 7900 GT SLi... Orb said I have an illegal version of 3dmark05, but it's the freeware version? I did a screen shot. I have my CPU overclocked to 2.6 and my ram is set at crappy latency... i'm sure I can break 14K.

Maybe you need to update to the latest patch for 3dMark2005.

Note: Please note that Build 1.2.0 is currently the only supported version of 3DMark05. There is a 2.8MB patch for 3DMark05 version 1.0.0/1.1.0 which you can download here. This hotfix is required in order to submit your result to the ORB.

Umm... yea you did [OC]. You just let coolbits do it for you

EVGA 7900 GT CO SC Stock factory settings first run.
550 Core 1580 memory.
A64 3700 San Diego @ 2.75 GHZ
9393 Not bad I think

Update: had to remove my first run as 3D Mark only lets you have one active at a time.
here's my most recent with 590 Core and 1800 memory

What do you mean? It isn't?!

*SPARTAN VI owns a 05 mustang*

10,763 3dmark05
this is with 7900GT volt moded and overclocked to 665mhz/1700mhz and dual core opteron 165 @ 2.7ghz

I get 10,709 3dmark05 with my eVGA 7900GT CO but I have it modded and oc'ed. 670/1800. Tomorrow I'm gonna mess with it more, hopefully get 11,000 :D

I get 9151 with my evga 7900gtx :( really sucks people say it might be my CPU only a AMD 3200 64 running stock. it makes me really sad that the 7900gts are raping me when i had to spend 200 dollars more wah wah.

best i got so far was 9398 with system in sig, but with the video card at 560/1700 and cpu oc to about 2.4ghz.

OK, WTF! I'm really starting to think that my scores suck.

3DMark 05 Default:
4807 3DMark05 score
1498 CPU score

n/m I used 3DMark 06, not 05...

My score was 8334 with and UNDERCLOCKED 7900GT CO(was underclocked because of artifacts in BF2 only) and STOCK Opteron 170. I haven't run 05 with overclocked Opteron and SLI yet, I will tomorrow if I remember.
