Ok its a long story, i bought this at around $584 CAD after tax, and brought it home and while adjusting i noticed that after 30mins of use when the brightness is set on high, the screen buzzes. So i took it back, and they gave me another one. Went back home and upon setting it up, i noticed that it still buzzed (at a lower volume) AND it had a BRIGHT PIXEL :( so now I'm considering giving it another shot, and going for a third one, IF that does not work, then i will have to resort to another monitor.

I had always wanted a monitor that was widescreen, 19" (so that its native resolution can still be handled with most mainstream graphic cards), and preferably Samsung.
And i finally got my wish come true, and it also has built in Hi-Def TV-Tuner.... so you can have Picture in Picture, so you can use ur PC while watching TV.

The monitor overall is good, my past LCD Monitors were, Samsung 172T, and Samsung 173P+. The 172T was amazing, but ALOT of ghosting was at 25ms. And the 173P+ was 8ms g2g, but that monitor had BAD back-lighting and a dead pixel dead center of the screen.

I really like this monitor, here's the pro and con list:

Pros:
- 19" Widescreen
- 8 ms (not g2g, not blazing fast, but fast enough for you not to see any ghosting AT ALL)
- Built in High Definition TV-Tuner
- Built in Speakers with Dolby Virtual Surround Sound and BBE Digital
- Remote Control
- VGA, DVI, Component, S-Video, Video,etc.... IN (meaning u can connect Xbox360, PS3, Nintendo Revolution and play them all at Hi-Def)
- Wall mountable
- 8 bit screen (16.7 million colors)

Con's:
- Viewing angle not so good
- Built-in Power supply (i don't like it, cause if it gets damaged, ur monitor goes bye bye)
- A little on the bulky side, when comparing to 173P+, 970P, 172T, etc
- Does not come with DVI cable in the box
- My fair share of bad luck with the buzzing and one bright pixel,

Viewing Angle's when hooked up to TV, compared with a 42" Prima Plasma TV.

I just saw this tv/monitor used for an XBOX360 demo unit. Looked really crisp. Too bad I want a 24"+ widescreen.

hey
i was thinking of buying the viewsonic 19" WS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?item=N82E16824116373
What do you think of its size? Does it immediately catch your eye when you enter the room (assuming that its in a different room than the one with that HUGE TV - dlp?)? Have you seen the difference between the 19" WS and the 20" WS 9http://canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=009557&cid=MT.258)? It seems from pictures that the 20" is much bigger.

Ok i just headed back to futureshop and look at the one on display.... and when under "Entertainment" mode, it DID infact buzz....
of course u had to place ur ear against the back..... but it did....

im sure ur 940mw's buzz too....

np :)

but apparently no one here is interested in a widescreen monitor from samsung, that has built in TV.

Oh and just an update..... i gave the monitor back... and got a refund..... i changed the monitor once (basically got two of the same model), checked two different on display models, and they ALL made the buzzing sound (the sound comes from the top rear of the monitor).

So if 4 of them make that sound, chances are most of them did.
