Damn computer was only running one core

Was running home but installed a Pro today. Much better results.

Home also supports dual-core. Did you not do a re-install when you upgraded from a single, or something similar?

I didn't know you had to reinstall or modify a driver till lastnight. Glad i read on this forum or i would have been in the dark for so much longer.

Did windows not detect the dual core and show the new hardware and driver install when you first started it up?

what do you mean by "running slow"? was it not running at 1800mhz?
how did you come to the conclusion that it was only running one core? did you assign affinity to a core and it did not work? did you check systool or cpuid? i have been running dual core since september and never had to use any special drivers or software on xp. some boards might need a bios update tho. are you sure that the performance is not any good because of the rest of your system? its only a 165, its not going to break any records anyway.
