I know this is motherboard specific however,...this is for the SFF crowd using this board in their Qpacks, Silverstones, etc...

First, complete the poll then, in your thread, list the following:

1) Stable/unstable
2) What Bios version
3) What memory
4) What PSU
5) How you OC'ed the system (mem dividers, voltages, etc...)

Let's see if we can nail this down and help each other out...

1) Stable (1 system stock, 1 overclocked)
2) 321
4) Rosewill 400w
5) 5/6 divider, stock specs for Patriot ram, 220fsb, 3x HTT. 3700+ @ 2420ghz.

The overclocked system however has a cold boot issue. I press the power button and it turns on but does not boot. I hit reset and it boots normally.

I have 2 of these boards.

System 1:
1) Stable
2) 3/21
3) Patriot XBLK (2x512)
4) Fortron AX400-PN
5) Venice 3000+ oc'd to 2.5 (280FSB)
vCore: 1.425
vDimm: 2.7
Timings: 2.5-4-3-8
Divider: 1:1 w/ Odd Divisor enabled to run mem at ~ 250FSB

System 2:
1) Stable
2) 3/21
3) G.Skill GBHZ (2x1GB)
4) XClio 450BL
5) Manchester X2 3800+ oc'd to 2.65 (265FSB)
vCore: 1.4
vDimm: 2.6
Timings: 3-4-4-8
Divider: 1:1

Currently trying to get over 265FSB on my dual core rig,

I never had reboots, only random freezing. It seems that not only do java-based applications have trouble with the ATi chipset drivers, the BETA BIOS gave me freezing too.

1) Stable
2) 3/21 now (4/2BETA = freezing)
3) 2x1GB mushkin HP3200 2-3-2
4) Enermax liberty 400w
5) 265x9 stock vcore 6:5 divider, mem at 8-3-3-3 1T @434mhz

1) unstable
2) 3/21
3) OCZ Platinum EG PC4000
4) Enermax Liberty 620 watt (replaced Enermax Liberty 500 watt)
5)
Vcore: 1.525
249*11
Vdimm: 2.7
Timings: 3-2-3-8
Divider: 1:1 & 4:5

Useing an ATI x1900-XTX graphics card, and am having separate problems with it.
The max FSB I've been able to get from the board was about 315 (315*5) and the memory is easily capable of up to 270 @ 2.7 volts.

1) Unstable
2)3/21
3)2x G.Skill pc4000 GBHZ
4) Enermax Liberty 500w
5) Oced to 2430 mhz 1.4 cpu voltage, 2.5 ram voltage, 9/10 ram divider w/odd divisor correct(so running at ddr 486), Ran Prime 95 for 13 hours straight, and then rebooted as i was posting my success

system in sig
1) Stable at stock, stable at specs listed for over 6hrs prime (wanted to play oblivion)
2) Bios 321
3) OCZ performance 3500
4) Antec truepower II 550
5) 2.4ghz zalaman 7000alcu
Vcore: 1.425
267*9
Vdimm: 2.7
Timings: 2.5-3-3-8
Divider: 6/5

Haven't had enough time to play with settings much, but its good for oblivion at 4 hours+ at these. Does this bios have memtest on it?
All of my system freezes come when i try to go to 2.5ghz w/prime. Im still at 1.425v so im going to increase that and see what i get tomorrow. 3/2 divider seems to work.

I can start to see a common theme here.... RS482 and enermax liberty.

Just the combo I was gonna use :(

1) Stable, Memtest, Prime
2) Tried all BIOS, all are fine. Currently using 321RH Mod
3) 2X1GB "Team Extreem Cronus 3-3-3-8" 2.8V 166 1T 3-3-3-8
4) Rosewill RP500 PSU
5) 300x9, stock Vcore, Vstock chipset, Opty 144 0603

It just makes no sense to me. How does a psu work with one board and not with another?

Its down to how manufacters implement power regulation and they all differ. Antec has had issues with the A8N series of boards and their NeoHE range. It'll be down to a hardware issue and I don't think a BIOS update can fix the problem

OK...so, the only machines that have the reboot problem are the ones using the Eneremax Liberty correct? No one else (using a different PSU) is experiencing this problem?

Im pretty sure... but i wanna be possitive on that too before i go out and buy a new psu.

no i'm all stock

silverstone zeus fragbox PSU 520w
fx60
2gb g.skill pc3200

get reboots at any given time...don't really see any pattern, not uptime, processes at the moment, just happens

might try updating bios....any luck with that for anyone?

....shit.... he doesnt have a liberty psu....
Do you have any other symptoms before reboots like freezing or a blue screen? or does it just happen as if someone hit the reset button

yes, completely out of the blue....not screen. Just be surfing along and BAM!!!

kind of like emeril

crap, well originally we thought it was just liberty psu, but shit...

Haha, Maybe these PSU's are just too much for the DFI. I've been using the Stock Aspire PSU for almost a week and haven't had any reboot's. I had reboot's galore w/ the Liberty. I have cancelled my NeoHE Order, and am going to place one for the Ultra X2 550w.

the ultra X2 kinda looks cheaply made to me. Too much flashy plastic stuff. lol maybe its just me.

The latest Ultras are very good... a tad noisy for me but very good psu's.

1) Unstable (system randomly drops to a black screen after a while, and needs a hard reset)
2) What Bios version: 321
3) Various combos of Mushkin PC3200, and Corsair PC3200 using 1-4 slots, same result every time.
4) Seasonic 600 watt
5) How you OC'ed the system (mem dividers, voltages, etc...): Stock/auto

1) Damn Stable
2) Bios: beta 209
3) 512x2 G.Skill pc4400 LE
4) Enermax Liberty 500W
5) 3700 san diego @ 275x11 (3025mhz)
Vcore: 1.475V
Vdimm: 2.8V
Timings: 2.5-3-3-8
Divider: 1/1
HTT:3x

1) Stable
2) 321 modified bios
3) OCZ 2 x1GB performance
4) Enermax Liberty 620 watt
5) 6/5 divider with fsb at 275 . 3/2 and 2/1 wouldnt work with this memory . CPU voltage was at 1.45 and memory at 2.7 . This was max stable with this setup due to limitation of memory.
6) 165 opteron
7) watercooling
8) fan on northbridge

I have some gskill pc4000 to arrive soon and have since sold the previous 165 and am useing a another 165 . waiting on memory to see how well this cpu will overclock with this system.

Please post back when you start overclocking your system, as your results should decide whether those with unstable boards need an RMA, or a different PSU. thanks!

1) Stable
2) Bios: 321
3) 512x2 OCZ pc4000
4) Antec True Power 380s (20-pin Stock PSU with Sonata Case)
5) Opteron 165 (314x9=2825mhz)
Vcore: 1.32V (stock)
Vdimm: 2.8V
Timings: 2.5-3-3-8
Divider: 6/5
HTT:3x

CPU idle = 40c
Chipset = 37c
System = 38c

Scythe Ninja with Scythe stock 900rmp fan. Installed air duct connecting the HS to the case fan opening (no case fan at all). SmartDrive 2000c drive enclosure (37-39c). Running 24/7

The only problem is when I need to use the Power button to shut down, it sometimes reboots instead. Still havn't gotten the DVI-D to my HDTV (HDMI connector) to work yet.

1) Stable
2) Bios 3/21 TonyUnhide
3) Crucal Ballistix 2x512mb 2-8-2-2
4) Antec TPII550 PSU
5) cpu 278x9=2.5ghz memory 166+odd divisor correct = 208.6

stock vcore
1.3 and 1.9 chipset volts
2.7 vdimm (fan blowing on memory)

DFI R482 Infinity R.AB0
Opteron 144 CACJE 0603 GPBW
Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu
ATI x850xt PE
Zalman VR700-Cu Led
NEC 3500A DVD Burner
3.5in Floppy
Qpack Case
120x38mm Exaust Fan on Antec PSU fan control

Not an extreme OC but good and stable. I could not get mine stable with my OCZ Plat rev2 (TCCD) or some Muskin TCCD I had. Both memories worked fine in Ultra-d with the same Opteron. I have seen others with good OC and stable with tCCD but soon as I put the Balistix in, I could play games with no crashing!

I think I solved my problem, power supply.

I swapped out the nice Seasonic 600 watt for some mid range looking Turbolinx? Turbopower? 500 watt power supply from a friend. System is prime stable for 9+ hours now, with 2 of the Corsair sticks in. I also played a DVD back to back twice on it prior to running prime. Prior to the power swap, it would usually die before the first run through the DVD, or occasionally at the 2nd.

I can only assume that this MB is extremely sensitive to the power supply you put with it. I thought the voltages on the Seasonic were extremely stable, but duno.
