17 pages, but jesus, Babelfish just is useless as a translater. The review is pretty much incomprehendeble for english speakers.

LOL "Fist Review"

"1st, you have the purchase intention to 24 inches?
Does not have, to have a look to be alright, the price too was expensive
Has, 24 inches are the kingly ways"

They are indeed the kingly ways.

They are indeed the kingly ways.

Are they talking about an LCD or something else entirely different here? :p

Hey, thanks for the review - broken engrish is better than nothing. Actually, it's a bit more entertaining than most reviews.

Your first reaction to this review might be: "WTF is a kneading board?" Apparently this is how "LCD screen" gets translated, as they talk a lot about the actual screens used in different monitors..

There is some discusison of exactly what kneading board... I mean display is actually used in this monitor, and according to the review the Benq uses something called a P-MVA display while the Dell 2407WFP uses the Tristar S-PVA. It's a little unclear which one is better, but I am assuming the P-MVA holds the slight edge since it has the better viewing angle.

The two selling features of the Benq seem to be:
1) the 178 degree viewing angle
2) the HDMI interface and full HD support

Their overall conclusion seems to be that it is a great monitor but not worth the price. Comparing their list prices for the big four 24 in players, I can't disagree.
Benq: 9999 yuan
Samsung: 7999 yuan
Dell: 6999 yuan
Acer: 5999 yuan

However, here in Canada the pricing is way different:
Samsung: $1799 CDN (WTF!)
Benq: $949 CDN
Acer: $829 CDN
Dell: $799 CDN

In this pricing structure, the picture changes entirely. The Samsung and Acer are both out (acer is a good monitor but lacks inputs for non-PC use). That leaves Benq vs Dell. Is the Benq worth $150 more than the Dell? Based on this review, I'd say yes.

From what I gathered, "Tristar" is Samsung.

I like the very first sentence. "24 inches are playing the family 中极"

But it's got some good pictures in there.

I think one thing this review clearly shows is that this will indeed be a very high-quality monitor, unlike what most people having been saying that since BenQ normally makes cheap monitors that this one would be the same. From the review it looks like this monitor will be the best thing out until the new NEC monitors come out, and maybe still after.

he is right.
Did you see any review about BenQ FP241W?

Haha. You dont live in Newark, NJ so with about 10 chinese restaurants within a 6 block radius....you dont know...:p

This monitor is definitely on my short list, seems to have all the right feature but just hope the image quality is better than dells.

Oh by the way, dose anyone know the name of that  HOT  Chinese model? I’m quite smitten.

that review IS great and all, and the monitor truly sounds good.. but the price they are listed, translated to dollars is like 1200.00.

For that kinda money id just rather get teh 37" westinghouse.

Hopefully the prices are different. I think i saw NCIX had it, and when currency converted was like 890.00 or something

NCIX (as well as TigerDirect) are selling it for $949 Canadian. Already bought mine, just waiting for NCIX to get them in so they can ship mine out to me. I'll post as good a review as I can once I get it. I don't really have access to many HD sources though, so it would be more from the perspective of a graphic designer / pc gamer.

I'd get the Philips S-IPS 23" over the BenQ for that price, but I don't care about HDCP..

That reviews great and all...but theres not enough pictures and details. Sure he says 'its exceptional', 'picture quality is spectacular' but it could not look that great to another person who may be a graphic specialist while hes just into basic things. (thats just an example..how would i know) All Im saying is more tests with better explanations and details would have made that review better. More will come out. I want one now! (IF the reviews hold up) And when I get it ill review it too. I do care about HDCP and the apple monitor is good but one input wont do it for me. The HDMI is a great addition and ill definitely take advantage of that with an HDDVD, Bluray , or another HD device in the future

ya, i am waiting for some review which will talk about its input lag and testing ghost.
that is the more important for people who are want to spent 100 to 200 more on this display

If this is using the same panel as the 244t and the dell 2407, I'm a little worried that it will have the same input lag issues. I know there are a lot of people who don't care about input lag, who should ignore this, but those who do might want to wait for a review that measures input lag. Otherwise, this looks very nice.

no its a different panel from the 244t and 2407(S-PVA). The 241Wpanel is made by AUOptronics a P-MVA type panel.

24 inches are playing the family 中极

No!! Keep that thing away from me and my family.

Horresdous translation I couldn't understand a word of it.

Someone posted
google also had translation
i added one it on my thread

I had a friend translate it the review for me.
The key points were that it has good brightness.
Reviewer complained about the position of usb ports and menu buttons.
Supposely HDCP is built in, but may require a firmware upgrade in the future when the specification is finalized. It may not be free...
Pricing was an issue for the reviewer since its more expensive in China than here.

Now if only I can compare this to the Dell 2407 A03 revision.
